This post is of how I overcome my problem of how to glue the ribs for the turret basket in place with noting to hold them in line. It took me some days to work this out but I knew I was going to have to glue one end or the other first and then hope the alignment was going to be correct. It finally hit me to use Liqui-Tape from Micro-Mark to attaché the ribs to the turret ring in accordance with the marking template provided in the interior kit so I dabbed a little of the Liqui-Tape to the ring as shown in the picture which kind of looks obscene and then stuck the ribs in place. It held them very well while I turned them over and with 5 minute epoxy glued the basket floor to the ribs and as shown they lined up spot on. I them removed the turret ring and the Liqui-tape and with 5 minute epoxy made the turret ring permanent.
After basket floor was glued.

Next are the Bogies which to some are very difficult to assemble. I did not experience any real problems with the assembly though it does take some planning. The bronze rods that come with the kit are different lengths depending on which end of the bogie you are assembling. One set is a little short in my estimation so I went to the hardware store and got some identical bronze rod and cut some to fit. I tried to substitute some .015 styrene rod in place of the bronze rod to avoid my arch enemy CA glue and it worked sort of. It’s really not stiff enough so I only did one that way and CA'ed the rest. Note the picture of the Sprue with the castle nuts cast on the end. You MUST drill those through before removing them. I glued one nut to the ends of all the rods and waited for them to set solid and then it was just a matter of threading the various parts in the correct order and glue the other nut on that end.

Yesterday I posted the turret ring with some slots filled in the below sot shows the parts that would have gone there.
Also on that post is the modifications for the rearview mirror which as supplied in the kit with is styrene rod would not have survived my clumsy hands for more than a few minutes. I made a new one out of styrene stock and a piece of bronze rod.

This shot shows the PE parts for the tool box that will show up soon and the sight vane shown on an earlier post. Well I survived the assembly though it was touch and go there a couple of times. On the head of that penny you can note an extra rivet head; somehow I got four of those on each side of the vane. I would normally never do something like that unless there is absolutely no way to make it any other way. Well I am pretty sure I could have made the from Styrene and will do that in the future but it showed me that I could IF I had to do it in PE.

A trick I learned from a great a great Minnesota model builder for painting all those little parts that have to be painted separately and you do not want to loose. I take paint stir sticks from the paint store and apply double stick scotch tape to them and then I can stick the parts to the stick and paint the keeping track of them.
Just edited out a bunch of garbage language from somewhere.

Sorry Teabone just catching up here - yer making a great job of what is essentially not the most straightforward kit on the market - the AM interior looks very nice and you loook to be making some sensible and effective amendments - Gotta love that Maltese Camo I do not think the Malta Como will be as big a fight as the kits tracks which come in a number of pieces with some inter connecting straight pieces and I have yet to assemble a set of tracks that did not require some fudge work before they are done and this set makes fudge work real difficult.

Dicky F
I have been posting away here and moving the pictures after posting to a second "Library" in photo bucket I have noticed on some sites that if you move your photo it disappears from the site. Is there a problem I am creating here???

Yes, images will disappear once you move them around. It is best to move them around first then copy & paste the links onto forums. Because once you move them, the link is broken and lost. Hope this helps?
Your little tank is still looking good!

The antennae support was modified to be closer to what was on the real vehicle.
Antennae support taken from the Strum MagazineMy take on it.

Not just you fificat, as I checked now at 6:45pm MST, there are several shots that PB says have been moved or deleted.
What I can see though is showing some very nice progress on this one teabone! Whipping it into shape slowly but surely.

Thank you for taking an interest and the nice thoughts, I will try to keep on keeping on with the build. I wanted to build it with an open hood (bonnet) but in examining the parts I see that that thought MAY have been a little enthusiastic. In examining some very nice engine pictures of civilian vehicles it looks like the owners may have only lifted one side or the other of the hood (bonnet) for checking fluids etc and left the side panels in place unless there was serious mechanical work to do. If that is indeed the case I still might be able to open one upper side for viewing the engine. We can tell DickyF that the engine is glossy black in all the pictures I have found with lots of brass showing. I would assume that much brass was standard at the time though it may never have been polished again. I hope I replaced all the missing pictures finally. I can appreciate that things have a reason to be the way they are, however, if I were given my preferences they would be to post .jpg files directly and bypass all the photo-bucket rigamarole completely but I have found that life does not always consider my preferences when choices are made so I have to follow the old ACL rule.
I have to beg your pardon as I get off on other missions and only get to look at the blog once a day or so at times.

Pics are back. Thanks a lot! One pic of the tank next to pair of tweezers really got me. Either you have a REALLY big pair of tweezers, or this is a SMALL model. Great work. My ham fingers would have crushed something already in this build.

Look at the picture of the turret ring with a penny setting inside of it to get you on perspective. For a 1/35 kit it is small like a lot of the very early British vehicles.
