Bish and Pete thanks guys not posted pics last few days got carried away most methods i use are well documented by others. One thing i tend to do is modulate durring weathering each camo colour at a time. I would say the redbrown has had about 20 filters the green around 12 and sand about 3 filters as its so light. . DSC07812 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. You can see the pin wash and light chipping kicking in on with the tracks for now. . DSC07813 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. . DSC07815 by macmcconnell, on Flickr Rgs Mac

Absolutely love it Mac. I might have missed it but what did you use for the camo. I'm also into the 1/16 stuff, and one of my fav 1/16 KT is this from the Netherlands. And you're paint job seems to be right up the same alley.super work Mac (I'll delete the pic's if you mind) Also, if I may, filters, do you mind say a few words about how and what you use. You say 'redbrown has had about 20 filters' . I'm not so familiar with the usage of filters vs washes. Thanks Stian

Hi Stian no probs with the pics it was one of my colour guides for this project though i changed a few things i also used Mirko Bayerl fantastic rendition too as well as a few on line models and pics from my Tigers in Combat II. I had noted that the cam pattern is a standard finish from late 1944. There are minor differences i went with a tank that was on the Orbat in Tigers in Combat ,but found no pictures of as some of the tanks that went to 501 had sprayed cam. I thought the red brown on Staf Snyers a great colour to start with, but as i use Mr Hobby Colours i made my own mix. I did hand paint the camo on first as i find all that tape a real pain. Filters I tend to filter each camo area in its own right, the trick with filters is very very thin and build up a modulation effect you dont have to cover the whole area on the edges i tend to always add extra light coats. I have been using the Mig 502 set for filters this is the first time i have used the set and its very good. German Armour Tones. I have also used AK wash brown for pin washes and dark green grime for weather runs. Do you need to know anything else its a pleasure to help out.

See what i can do Ceresvesta Heres my KT from back in 2009 it was one of the last in Berlin hence its very dark and dirty ,but not the cam pattern almost the same as stafs. . DSC07828 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. . DSC07824 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. . DSC07823 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. Above the oil set. . DSC07822 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. . DSC07827 by macmcconnell, on Flickr AND heres a picture of them both together my New KT is in a lot better condition only being a few months old. . DSC07820 by macmcconnell, on Flickr. After every few filters i add a few weather streaks 2 0r 3 at a time i dont like the multi dot approach i like to keep my colours clean till the very end. Rgs Mac

Thanks Dupes loads of filters they can change so much i added one very thinned down wash of AK brown wash to were the side skirts had been that was all but you can clearly see the tone change, the other thing to remember is once dry they look very different hence many filters but very light and build up the colours.
