Paul,
Really enjoying this and thanks for the information regarding NMM (Gold) and your colour choices. Still trying to get my head around golds. Silver is a lot easier IMHO.
Looking forward to the Colours.

Hi all a few pics of the right arm, after base coating ive gone over the areas at the bottom of the sleeve a darker red, and then gradually added the shading and highlights, for the creases right at the top of the sleeve, that is where they would get the most light, ive highlighted them in straight yellow. they need a bit more blending and i have the inside of the arm to do next all for now Paul

Hi Paul, I have just popped in for a looksee, you are making great progress. Flesh tones, I find are as hard to pull off in larges scales such as this as smaller scales, you have cracked it mate. I love the NMM effect you have gone for on the rank badges and epaulettes, (a side effect of this is you will not get those annoying specks of metalic pigment you sometimes see on a completed model) the red on his tunic is coming along really well, your choice of base colour, shades and highlights is spot on. I will pop in again soon for another looksee soon, thanks for posting. Dennis

Chris couldnt agree more a few more pics, sorry about the quality, poor lighting up here, must be running out of candles . Started on the straps, base coated a mixture of grey and blue, then added some yellow to white and put a thin layer on. right at the very top of the straps ive gone for straight white but the first bit of shading has been done with blue. If you havnt used blue before to shade white it just gives a very subtle change, if youve seen any paintings of snow the artist will normally use blue to shade it. ive then shaded the straps the further down they go, first again with blue and then various shades of grey also just showing a touch of the yellow. You can also see that the other epaulette is complete all for now Paul

Making great progress on this one Paul! The point about using blue to shade white is one that I've filed away for future reference. Makes sense when you think about it.

Hi all. i thought id better make sure that the hand carrying the colours fits well before i carry on, and guess what..........its a pretty good fit, ive put a pin into the pole and one into the hand to get a good strong fit. the only small problem was the resin fill line on the colours is along the back of the pole and theres a lot of crease detail that will have to be put back in but no real biggy I still may pin through the colours and into the shoulder just to give it some more support Paul

cheers Dicky the sash has been finished, a darker red than the tunic and the right leg has been started. i had to check what colour the trousers were, thought they would be dark blue, turns out this was the campaign dress colour, grey. ive base coated with a mix of grey and blue, the front part of the leg is a darker grey than the back then highlighted and shadowed accordingly on the inside the base grey is even darker all for now Paul

Making good progress Paul, the pins ought to provide some solid support for the colors and arm...I wondered how heavy that might be since it's a single cast resin piece?

Hi Paul your witchcraft on the NMM is working a treat, in fact the whole thing is a treat, well done. I seem to remember the chap in our club saying that the arm with colours needed pinning. As for the UJ on the rank chevrons history has repeated itself in a small way as the recruiters for the Army still wear the Union Flag on their rank sliders at the present time, it is funny seeing this on a Multi terrain camo rank slide. Looking forward to seeing more, thanks for posting. Dennis

Hi all a few more pics of the finished strides, the red stripes were base coated burnt umber then washed with red then highlighted orange. As this progresess i will probably just touch up the legs as i go, nothing new there then I want to try to add a bit of dirt to the trouser bottoms but i have to say all my previous attempts to do dirty havnt looked so good so any advice would be appreciated all for now Paul
