Leon it would still be more than 2 wheels to make Cheers Boots, next update here After all that silly malarky about an M2 rig ill carry on with me nice simple chariot, so next up is the floor, this was a rectangle of ash or yew that had perforated sides and then a hide lattice work threaded through it. This is the actual part that they stood or sat on and because it was suspended from the hoops at the side, it gave a bit of an easier ride So i cut the strips from 1mm sheet and then worked out the spacing for the slots, and then glued on 2mm wide pieces along the length and finally fitted the top piece. The end joints would have been halving joints so i left the slots on the shorter pieces and the tongues on the longer ones. Once it was all glued together i now have to sort the hide lattice work. Not sure what im going to do this with yet, i have some .25mm styrene on order but ill have a look to see if there is anything else i could use all for now Paul

Leon cheers buddy CB email on its way to you Now that the weaving has been finished,........i could probably make a rattan chair now , i made the 2 spars that support it and then these were fixed to the frame, ill probably have to make some bolt heads to go on this. I then started on all the lashings. Even though the frame would have been spikes together it was also lashed with hide straps. I started on the yoke spa and the axle and cut 2 strips of .25mm styrene 1mm wide. every joint has to be lashed and also the suspension straps were platted god alone knows how im going to do that I shall go and contemplate platting Paul

Wow Paul, this is some pretty intricate work you've got going! Nice job on the lashings, the weaving, and the plaiting! Before long you'll be knitting your own socks.

Cheers Bill knitting me own socks would be a doddle after this Many thanks Bruce Just one pic of the platted strap attached to the suspension hoop, when the other side is done the 2 poles in the middle will also be lashed together, they must have had to slaughter a herd of wilderbeast to get the leather for all these lashings Paul

i got the other hoop lashed and also bound the 2 together at the bottom spa. When the platted base sits onto the straps there is a tie between them so that the height can be adjusted, but i think that will have to be added when its painted just the other side to do Paul
