Here they are with about 5 coats on. Second coat on Crew.
Wow! those look just like the 20 year old angle iron laying out behind my shop. Truly realistic. EJ

Looks like they've spent their fair share of time submerged in salt water Bruce. Crew gang's coming along nicely as well.

I ordered the Eduard PE detail set # 35 735, the Eduard PE support framework set # 35 746, and the trumpy LCM crew set # 00408. Ordered from Red Frog Hobbies. The detail set # 35 735 was scratched off the invoice when I got the order. Red Frog said they couldn't get any more. An e-mail to Eduard had a reply that the set was no longer produced and their stock was depleted. Anyone got any Ideas as to where I should/could look? Tried my usual sources - Squadron, etc. The PE that comes with the kit is very limited. Still looking forward to this build though.

Type the kit number into Ebay or Amazon under Toys and Hobbies. There still may be a few out there. Good luck, because they aren't making allot of the kits anymore.

Wow, that was quick. Did the E Bay / Amazon thing - no luck. Got a reply from a different forum with a link to Luckymodel. They had 5 in stock - ordered one, should get it in about 12 days. Will let you know when I get it. Thanks for your help.

Will let you know when I get it. Thanks for your help. EJ The saga of the Eduard 35735 PE set - Well, I got steered to Red Frog Hobbies, ordered the PE detail set, ($12.83 + shipping) the PE support frame set and the Crew set. When the order came, the detail set was scratched off. Inquiring, I was told they were out of stock, the set was no longer available. An E-mail to Eduard confirmed they no longer produce it and had none in stock. Then I was steered to Luckymodel. The site said they had 5 + in stock, ($15.10 + shipping) with a 12 day delivery time. The next day I checked my order and it said they were out of stock and it was 2 - 3 weeks to get more from their supplier. That doesn't bode well I don't think. I was also steered to AAHobbies. No website but I e-mailed them and quickly got a reply that they had it in stock. ($20.69 + shipping) I've e-mailed back saying I wanted it and am waiting to hear back re purchase agreement. This is an elusive little critter, but I'm not giving up. EJ

Thanks to TRM for the heads up to AA Hobbies. Got my Eduard 35 735 PE set today from them. Thanks to John Reid for his quick service as well. NOW - I'm nearly ready to start my LCM build, right after I finish my 1/700 Yorktown OOTB. Putting the last of the paint, decals and details on it now.

Awesome! You can keep going... just damp flat brush with white spirit and do it repeatedly until they start to fade away. If you have gone overboard, you can always add another streak and do it again. They look even even better in layers like masters always tell us. You are getting there...

Should I put a layer of hair spray on first or just keep working it in? Yeh, the Boys in Blue didn't have much time for painting late in the War.

Thanks fellas. I'm trying. Painted the small part today, like for the 50 Cals, Capt. Control Panel, ropes for the bumpers ( will have to redo them), Front Gate cables and guides and a bunch of Olive Drab parts for the 50s. Thanks for lookin.

AWESOME! Those streaks look much more realistic now. Rust streaks don't stop abruptly... it just fades as they go further down... you nailed it!!!
