This was a bit of a challenge . Making the Diamler-Benz emblems on the drive sprocket hub covers . Here's a SBS . I cut aluminum tubing against a drill bit . This kept the aluminum tubing from collapsing . The tubing was sanded thinned against a sanding wand using the eraser to grip it . Then the inside surface of the tubing was smoothed on a rat tail file . I used this template to find the center of the hub cover and marked it . The aluminum ring was held in place temporarily using a dab of Future . That allowed me to adjust the ring into position . When the Future dried I applied small drops of c.a. to permanently attach it. I cut small(really small) pieces of stretched sprue and applied them inside the ring using Future again to hold them in place while adjusting them into the Diamler-Benz emblem shape then applied small drops of c.a. with a tooth pick . When the c.a. cured I lightly sanded them and here they are painted in a primer to show the flaws . Thanks again my friends for following along .

What flaws? I can only see two masterpieces, so small they will be hardly noticed. You have such a care for details that every build you do is something special

You know what this means Carl, the crew will now have to set a guard to prevent those caps from being stolen and resold on the black market! Nice work on the emblems.

I was watchin engines blowing up on the dyno at "you tube" and got inspired to get back to this build . Well not really . but here is the results of a few days spent at the bench .after I get done with housey projects . I couldn't spend all day down here actually . I'd go nuts . I'm already nuts . Retired and nutty . Pour wifey . No wonder she keeps me busy . Anyway back to this plastic assemblage .............. I've had to temporarily run the fuel / air / electrical lines until I get the engine painted and permanently droped in . The assembly steps of this model are requiring me to hold off on gluing some parts permanent . Without further talking bout it here it tis . Ok then , more coming ..........sometime .

Hey Joe thanks my friend . Did some painting on the Maybach . Over all it got a spray of Floquil Old Silver . The details were painted with Tamiya XF-1 and XF-22 and a coat of Future sprayed over all . Next will be the grease and dirt !
