Wonderful fix job, it would have broken my heart to see this ruined...now, except for us, no one will be the wiser and I expect no one'll be telling

Wholly thread resurrection batman Not a huge amount of progress on this fella in the last 7 months. I honestly don't know how I manage to focus so much attention on one model then just leave it for so long so this post will insensitivise me to get cracking on with it. I always make sure any unfinished work gets boxed up nice and secure and I use those neat little 'really useful boxes' sold at places like Hobbycraft here in the UK. I upturn them so I have a flat top as a base, pop the instructions in as a protective layer then pop the model items in and secure the box over the top. They come in a myriad of sizes and stack really securely on top of one another if space is a factor. I am ashamed to say I currently have about 20 of these with various models in different states of build but I know they are all dust free and all the sub assemblies and unattached items are all in one place Those resin wheels have been cleaned up and fit really well They come in two parts with hub and wheel as two separate moldings should you wish to model it minus the actual wheel which is a nice touch The tracks are painted and they are getting weathered as I type so space is being cleared to get this baby up and running And whilst were talking babes I'm glad to report my track day weapon is also performing well 5K miles after a complete engine overhaul vorsprung durch banzai technik

Thanks fellas A mini (bugger all done) update on this as work is continuing to steal pretty much most of any bench time Any kind of stint at the bench is usually short and often interrupted so I have been keeping my hand in by updating older models with new techniques and materials and playing with my camera. I did however manage to fix one track side on so the build has not totally stagnated (Honest ) Final attached track pad link still in grey primer Happy with track length and sag Los

May 2024
Just a short break with this one! Yep, it’s been over a decade since I popped the lid on this and since 2014 it's sat in a clean plastic storage tub and not received even so much as a hint of love. Although it has travelled halfway across our fair isles since, it has remarkably remained fully intact. I’m pretty sure it’s not the norm to return to projects abandoned so long for obvious reasons but to get an idea if she was still presentable, I figured I would snap some pics and see how she looked on screen. As only the running gear and chassis had been painted, I started jotting down ideas on how to add my current creativity to this existing work. I’ve decided to give it a late war factory camo scheme similar to ones seen on Hetzers. I’m in the process of accumulating a few 3D vehicle drawings with this scheme so I can make up some masks. The existing paintwork was painted with acrylics, but my paint of choice now would be lacquers.
To get the ball rolling I first needed to figure out where I left off. The paint job to the chassis, running gear and tracks looks acceptable but I feel the interior might require a few 'tweeks' to make it more in keeping with its new exterior paint job. As is pretty evident already, modelling subjects at such a glacial pace has meant there is a method in place to make restarting projects up again as easy as possible. The storage tub was well sealed so there were no mountains of dust to remove. The box also contained all the remaining loose items like the benches, hatches, doors, and smaller exterior items yet to be fitted, and I was pleased to see I had highlighted the parts on the instruction sheet I had already built up. This should make this long overdue reboot a smooth process so I can crack on with the paint job ASAP. My only choice left to decide is whether to replicate it as a modern restored vehicle or as a period 1945 last months of the war vehicle, along with its unusual solid front tyres.

Bookmarked! It will be great watching you resurrect this losboz! I hope you go the weathered route as the chassis and running gear look sensational!
