Ooh, Alclads, lost count of the times I've had a mare with the stuff, lovely finish when it goes on right (which it rarely does with me) and an absolute horror when it goes pear shaped.

Keep the faith mate, if anyone can pull the proverbial modelling rabbit out of the hat, it's you.

Robbo.........i make ya spot on fella

Prof.....gotta say i`ve been pretty lucky with the `clads so far, this is the first time i`ve had an issue but then it is the first time i`ve had to use it with masking tape!!

Anyway...what was supposed to take a couple of hours last might ended up as 6hrs!!!!!, i had to re-strip the rear and lower cowling as mentioned, re-prime,base with White and then re-do the Red (rubbing back between each applications....tedious i know but worth the extra effort i think!!)...........the lower cowl is now finished and decs applied (dry fitted at the mo.....as will all the body work until final assembly), the rear cowl is re-done but i need to add the silver to that part, the saddle cowl is finished and the front fairing has had it`s final top coat and awaiting the silver as well!!

Here`s the lower cowl..........it ain`t much but it has taken some considerable time to get it looking respectable, just need another coat of gloss to finish it orfe!!..............the seat cowl has been popped into position for aesthetic purposes!

Very kind of ya too say so mucka , just in the process of ferkin`up......`er i mean......doing the front screen fairing , the proof will be in the pudding when i fit it and don`t ferk the paintwork with finger prints!!!

Oh....and the side fairing mounts done as well

This is dry fitted as well, although i may fix this in place as it is a bit delicate to keep taking on/off, fixing it in place won`t affect anything from now on as i need to work on the rear cowling............will need to do those pipes that are a bit short before hand tho!!

Splendid job, Boots. I really love the clean realistic look of the assembled parts.

I too have a love/hate affair with the alclads. The finish is the best I've ever seen, but they're harder to tame than a wild dragon...

Lui you ain`t wrong there fella......next time i do a split colour scheme i`ll use the same brand of each, this came out ok but i find the Tams seem to be more agreeable with the masking.......Alclad is an art in itself, gave me some grief i`ll tell ya


Ok guys.....not so much an update but more of a `back to being naked again with me clothes spread all over the floor` scenario!!,(and i don`t ferkin` mean me.....this time!!!

These two pics show the tins done.......including that ferkin` rear cowling!!, i just have the two side fairings to do but i`m gonna take a quick break for an evening or two, need to kick back and let things really settle down on this, there needs to be some more glossing yet so if i do it and leave it it`ll be reasonable too handle if need be for the last stages....

The two pics look the same but the rear cowling is shown both sides..

Ok these will be the final pics before the finish line, was hoping to have had the two side fairings done tonight but my good lady is in migrain mode!!

I`ve got her partially dressed now with the bodywork................hopefully i`ll knock out the two remaining panels over the weekend....i`m gonna use this base but re-cycle it!!.........gonna stay with the white tho coz i think it sets of the other colours quite nicely!
