Pete don't take me wrong but I was thinking the leather had a slick finish now it looks like suede or rough out. The slick finish had a nice contrast compared to the cloth uniform texture. It's your figure and just my untrained opinion Tony lee

Amazing finish Pete! My two cents: Tony got a point. But still Sooooo good looking. Congrats. Phil.

I hear you guys, I did spray the jerkin a satin varnish then matted down the uniform but it just did not look right, far too shiny and unrealistic so it got blasted with matt. However after the matt's dried for a few days I'm going to try adding a slight sheen using my greasy old fingers. Today I tried to fit the frikin tracks as well to the model but failed miserably. The damn things just kept breaking up!! don't know if it's the paint or weathering but they went in the bin! In fact the whole model was VERY close to going in there too. So once again I have to look for tracks and will probably get some metal ones (should have got some in the first place)

Hmmmmm. I guess the macro shows more than you can see from a normal viewing distance. Its always a bit tricky to get a "real" impression from viewing it on your PC. But - and thats definetely a bit strange (subjective opinion of course!): the pants and the overall look a bit exaggerated, thats a drybrush is it? Doyou have the possibility to tone them down a bit, with a decent washing for example? Just my 5 €-cents.

Very nice work on the figure Pete. Shame to hear about the tracks, some plastic tracks are sensitive to washes/weathering and can become brittle depending on how heavy the treatment. Hopefully you can sort that out quickly to keep this one moving.

Hopefully you can sort that out quickly to keep this one moving. yep had this type of problem before although this time I treated the tracks with kid gloves! Friuls have been ordered and a slight adjustment made to the figure. My mate Brian pointed out that the collar on the jerkin was in fact the battledress/ coverall collar so a quick swipe with a hairy stick sorted it out.

Almost across the finish line Pete! She's looking really good. I hear you on not wanting to cover up a lot of the detail, the subtle finish looks just right for a short field maneuver.
