Hello chaps. Sorry for the lack of updates, life has been mad busy. Here we go, not much though. Bodywork assembled. Three Coats of primer, five coats of colour and three coats of clear plus much smoothing in between and we're done. Ignore the iffy looking seam down the tank, that will be covered with various trim parts. Not quite an exact match for the HD colour but pretty close, I'm happy. Thanks.

Now that is a pretty picture fella.............the colour and finish are the bisons beanbags mate The PM`s not a biggie mucka............i`m just trying to source a couple of spare bits otherwise i`m gonna hit a stumbling block(ish), otherwise the option is scratch!!! !) Handlebars.............need a renthall style look rather than clip-ons which come with the kit, these are scratchable apart from getting everything level and in shape!! 2) Spotlights..............need something suitable for a twin spot set up,maybe some round bezels and lenses etc...........or i could fabricate something but the clear glass is an issue!! 3) Dials............these bikes come with the digi style dash and i wanna put a couple of traditional ones in............again i could scratch but if i can source it would arf same some time Cheers bud

Hmm, I'm afraid I have nothing in my spares that would help and short of buying another bike kit (or two), the parts you need are pretty much down to scratch. You may get lucky on the spots with a couple of reworked 1/35 military ones but that's it. The bars are probably best fashioned out of copper rod as it might just be easier to work than styrene, the clocks, well, I don't have a scooby, leave it with me...

Jeff Hi Dan, thanks buddy. I get most of my Auto stuff from Hiroboy but be warned, if you buy paint, thinners or clear coat it is only shipped via courier so postage cost is higher, I tend to build up the largest order I can to offset the higher than Royal Mail delivery charges As for Zero paints, most excellent. They are pre thinned so give the jar a good long shake, pop some in your AB and away you go, if your using metallics, make sure to agitate the jar regularly as the metallic particles settle to the bottom fairly quickly. Hiroboy have a tutorial on their site in the paint section if you're not sure. The clear coat is the best I have ever used, you get three parts, clear coat, thinners and hardener, mix them to the ratio suggested and you should be fine, just be aware the hardener is as it's name suggests an accelerator so you probably have a 20 minute window for spraying the clear before it starts to go off. If you need me to expand on anything, I'm happy to help, drop me a PM when you're ready... Back shortly...

Chaps. Back to the engine, time to get the top end on. Tamiya have gone for the best option to create the fine detail on this element by providing the barrels and heads as individual fins. Apologies for the quality of the next four images. They build up sandwich style and is very straightforward, Tamiya even stamp each part with its number so no excuse for getting it wrong! Primed up ready. Then on with the paint, no issues here although to be honest I'd did do it twice to try and improve it but failed. Once dry, slip the barrels onto the studs, followed by the heads, push rod tubes and rocker covers. Heads are secured by eight long nuts, bottom half of the cam covers by eight small screws and finally, the top half of the cam covers by six hexagonal bolts, lovely stuff. That's it for now chaps, ACW

Mence, this is just outstanding. What a great idea to do the cylinder head fins separately. They look spot on Buddy.

Now that's a very cool design approach to the cylinders, renders an extremely realistic level of detail. Nice!
