Pete, Steve and Rich...thanks for stopping in, sorry I missed you on the reply earlier!! Things have been a bit crazy for a while here....still swimming though!! Well it's time for another quick little update. I have sneaked in some time here and there to push this one along. There is not a whole heck of a lot more building left to do and then it all comes down to the paint and weathering; so here we go! One part that needed some attention I felt was the winch. The mold was just a bit wonky for me... A couple pieces of brass rod and some white stuff, I think it might work out somewhat better. Moving on, I added a some undercarriage plumbing to the rear axle... These little items might not show too much but once you start, you just kind of keep on going I guess. This brings me into some final interior detailing. Once the rack, computer for the RWS and some stowage things will clutter up rather nicely. Again, a quick mock up gives me an idea as to where I stand... I managed to slap together the wheels and give this one a soft stance! I found some extras on the bench that might work out on this one...some Armor Farm Winch Cable. And some modern boxes from Armor Farm as well So next up for this one is some detail sanding and clean up and finally I need to construct that RWS. Thanks for taking the time to have a peek!!

Creeping details, is that some kind of winter-affliction that's common up in the Northeast? Very nice detailification here T.

Andy - Solid stuff there brotha'! Definitely easier than packing kits, but we discussed my thought of taking old clothes and tossing them out...well except the ones you are wearing at the time and pack kits into the suitcase!! I am figuring you will have trouble leaving "our corner" for the most part...MSC, SMA, AF, AMMO, Celticwerks, Apenflage Hobbies and Joe Farina...LOL...rigth across from the Club Table? You're screwed! Dicky, I couldn't think of anyone better to talk about my "undercarriage" than you my friend!! Mile away do make the heart grow fonder!! Thanks btw...most appreciated!! Never got around to picking up any of the small white stuff to have a go at your Magic White Wiring process...but I have had 3 snow storms in a row..about 26" of the white stuff on the ground right now....LOL!! Luigi...Thank you Sir!! Leon, thank you buddy!! Bruce - Thank you much!! Bill, must be! Nothing better to do other than build and shovel!! Thank you my friend!!

Well,I am still plugging away on the RG-31 for our good friends over on Inscale.org and it's time for another little update. I managed to work through 99.7% of the building process I think and began moving into the realm on painting. First things first...let start with the RWS construction. Instructions called for beginning with the M2 .50 cal.. I decided to upgrade the gun a bit as I eluded to in a previous post here. The upgrade set is from RB Model and the best cheap, quick and dirty way to spruce up a .50 Cal.. The RB barrel is a bit closer to the real length on this gun. After chopping off the barrel and then drilling a hole for receiving the new barrel, I pulled out some foil tape to add a bit of detail to the top casing of the gun. This should pop once some paint and maybe a little dry brushing gets underway. The RB set comes with a few goodies to bring the gun up to snuff. Handles for the rear of the gun and one for the slide bolt. So after plenty of tiny detail sanding the RWS comes together...well it will be actually together after a little paint!! I fired up the airbrush earlier today. I began laying some primer, some shading and then a light coat of the interior color. I chose the off white color after looking into many different color schemes that are used on this vehicle. A little color change...going red for the extinguisher! And finally, I laid down some black primer on the .50 Cal.. This are moving along nicely I think. Still plenty more to go but for now...thanks for tuning in!! This are moving along nicely I think. Still plenty more to go but for now...thanks for tuning in!!

The 50 cal looks superb T. Is the foil just embossed over the existing detail or does it replace it? P

Thanks fellas, the kind words are most appreciated! Paul, The .50 was missing the punch dimples, top and bottom. The foil is just HVAC tape for heating ducts. This one was easy to work whereas laying the tape, even with the backer on it, on top of the gun and pressing slighly gave the outline impression. I just cut out the outline a touch bigger for the overlap and ran my rivet tool maker down the section that would be bent over the side. The adhesive back is more than enough to hold in place and burnish the flat sections down. If you want to make sure it never moves, a little CA or even PVA works wonders. Things came pretty close. I can't wait to dry brush a little tonight!! After it is installed in the RWS things will all blend tgether I think!!

Seems I missed you both Dicky and Phil...Soz 'bout that!! Thank you both for the kind words!! Yay...another update...another couple steps closer to closing this one up!! This one is still all about the interior. As time permits I have tried to pick away at a few things to spruce up the innards. The Dash The Archer transfers worked nicely in the bezels and folled them up with a couple tiny droplets of future. RWS Control Three main components to the interior digs... Okay, trying to get some parts mounted before some weathering....always about the weathering ain't it? LOL!! I added some transfers here and there for color... Some seats........... Hanging some equipment............ Another little mock up: So I think a couple more transfers maybe and some weathering an the two halves can finally come together for good!! I did set aside some time to mess with some of the stowage. I chose some of Value Gears' Universal Stowage to pack in the back. This is some really nice stuff! Crisp details and plenty to choose from in one set. What more could you ask for? Now for a little fun. I plan on using the same paint on all of these pieces...if for nothing else but to show how the primer you choose can affect the end result of the pieces you are working on. I took four different color primers from Vallejo and shot each of the pieces (yes, I know there are 5 there...two are the same!! LOL!) I cheated a bit on one as I thought some shading should be placed on this one. With some Camo Pale Brown I laid some shading down. Next was adding the color. I choose Sand which normally would not need to be thinned, but I wanted to add a couple thin layers rather than try and cover the pieces all in one shot. I took various colors all in the same tonal range as the Sand and hand painted the straps and buckles and added just a touch of Dark Steel pigment to the steel rods on the one pack. Some washes coming up soon on these puppies!! Sorry for the long winded heavy pic update! I have a couple things I need to play catch up on over the next few days but I am really looking forward to jumping back on this by tthe weekend!! As always, Thanks for taking the time to swing by!!!

Value Gear Details make one of the best stowage sets... it was pleasure painting them on my duck not long time ago. I will not hesitate to buy more at upcoming show. LOL
Great work on the stowage and fire extinguishers! Can't wait to it dirty next...
