Thanks everyone for being here ! I really appreciate all of you following this build . Not a lot done on the Merkava today . Its finally been warming up outside and I'm chomping at the bit to get out there and start the yard work ..... so I did . Dang near broke some teeth on the bit though ! I've read many comments here about the turret looking like a space and there are similarity's .So I did a serious look see ........hmmmmm ? I did a search on the starship Enterprise images and here's a couple of them .There is a resemblance . By the way that movie Space balls cracks me up ! Musty ! You cant say that stuff here ..... .....or can you ? Well , you already did . About the application of decals , or lack thereof in this case , before , or after , the weathering and the multitude of effects .............the answer is ...............I forgot about the markings mate ! I'll be putting them on tonight before I get much further along in the weathering Musty .Thanks for the reminder !

Glad Dicky reminded you about the markings before you go any further... you will do just fine. Sometimes we have enjoy our hobby too much that we forgot something.

I agree guys , now that I have posted those pics I want to see the movie again ! I managed to get the decals on last night and a coat of dull over them this a.m. . Gawrrrd ! I think ole Nems is been back there "kicking the turret curtain" by the looks of those dangling thingies ! Have a good day guys and I'll be back later .

Glad you got the reminder on the markings before it's too late Carl! I don't think you can blame Dicky for your curtain malfunction though...

Looking good! Those damn balls and chains are enough to make me break out in a cold sweat. Some kind soul sent me the very same PE chains you've used for your build to help me on an old Academy Merk2, and I gave up on the plastic half-balls (can I say that on TV?) so I made balls (there's that word again) using PVA glue, coating the end link in each chain with PVA until I had more-or-less round shape at the end. I wasn't totally happy with the result. I think Meng is on the right track, just wish they were molded in soft (DS) plastic.

Jeff , at least the EM-50 looks more streamlined ! Robert , I tried the pva , then c.a. and finally went back to styrene balls from the kit . Legend has a nice turret basket / rear basket and ball n chain but I couldn't find it in stock unless I wanted to pay as much in shipping .

Thanks for the laugh ! I went over the hull with a black oil pin wash and then worked some black oils into the non skid areas to bring out the texture . Not sure were to stop .But soon I'll have to . Good evening and don't be ludicrous !
