jackwagon , Luigi- thank you both very much for the support! Jeff- I'd say go for it but be prepared for much weeping and gnashing of teeth.... I'm hoping to get quite a bit done with this tonight, particularly on the turret, as I'm away over the weekend so no styrene or glue fumes for at least 3 days The turret basket in particluar fills me with dread

8-)Cheers Pete. Well I arrived back home after a few days away to find a nice little pacel from CB waiting for me. Some very nice Meng tracks and sprockets from the AUF1 kit- which are the correct style for this baby- A big thank you to Mr Barret! I was going to try a length against the Heller Sprocket- but have decided- Why bother - when I know I've got some that will fit! This does mean I can get on with doing some more work to the hull and even think about closing it up very soon. I think things are going to move on somewhat now. UPDATE: Just a quick check with the Heller sprocket/Meng tracks- confirmed my earlier thoughts- close but not close enough! So thanks again CeeBee!

I've spent that last 2 hours doin' me ferkin' nut with the turret basket - and its still not finished! But i have buttoned up the hull. Some work is going to be needed. The more I do the more I find... Tried another dry fit to see how she's progressing. ACW P

Update from work (I'm on lunch!) so no pics at the moment I'm afraid; A bit more on those bleedin' baskets: The locating dimples were next to useless tbh so I eneded up drilling them out to better anchor the struts of the cage. This is when I either mis-aligned my drill holes or the dimples themselves were off- you decide- I couldn't possibly comment. Some minor bending of the cage was then necessary to make it all fit- but nothing that couldn't pass for "in-use" dents and dings. I closed up the hull which needed filler both at front and back (more at the front), and also around the idler axel socket. Agin, it may have been down to me but when the clamps came off I noticed a bit of misalignment on the too hook "socket" the were modled into the 2 hull pieces . These will need to be replaced-but that isn't all bad as it will make cleaning the hull front a A LOT easier Tonight I'm planning to get on with those lovely Meng tracks and clean up the filler. Deano, Robbo, Tojo (sounds like somfing from "the Hobbit" )- thanks for the comments chaps. Some progress pics from last night; I managed to finish off the baskets and also add some details to both hull and turret (not so obvious on the latter- clear styrene 'scopes)= and a bit of a running repair to the shovel- lost the working end of it so cobbled a replacement from a spare Leo one. No quite the right shape -but better than an empty space. The large empty space on the left of the rear plate is where the jerry cans go but the ones supplied -or at least the molded on detail- is SOOOOO wrong its going to need a bit of work modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/post/220708/edit#As always - comments etc very graciously welcomed (sorry for the blurriness in the pics- I think the lense [and photographer] need a bit of a tidy up!)
