Hello Gentlemen, Me and my nephew Kyle (Dieselrocket) and i have been planning a Tamiya Tiger I Initial Afrika Corps Duel build before i ever even knew MSC existed. With his busy schedule, we were never able to make it happen......till now!!! We both had our Tiger kits for a long time and we slowly gathered up some aftermarket goodies and we have been discussing the start date and details for quite some time. Here is my entry:  Not gonna have PE for the kit but there is some PE for the Fiffel Filter resin set. Ill scratch up any extra stuff i need and make do.  Take it away Kyle! |

Man, I wish they made parts for the 1/16 kit. A DAK Tiger sounds better than the Initial version! I just like desert sand colored German tanks the best! This (like always) looks to be a stellar build Gary! I'm in too!  Jeff |

What rhymes with DAK? I dunno. Doesn't matter DAK armor is my favorite armor...Can that kit still be found short of second hand? I'd love one. Not building my Cyber Hobby that's for sure.

Okay, so here's my entry into the fray. Been really tough to model the last year, hoping to do a lot more this year and be more active in the forum and community. We've been wanting to build these together for a loooong time, and Gary's idea of a duel was a great one! Let's see if we can get these done by the Tulsa Figure Show! I'm attacking this with the Tamiya kit, Tamiya p/e grilles, Fruil tracks, Voyager air cleaner set, Star Decals and I'm cheating on my wheels with an Eduard express mask. I still haven't sourced a metal barrel as they seem hard to find for this kit, but I'm on the lookout. I'm planning to use the kit figure most likely with a Hornet head, but that may change. As for which specific tank I'm modeling, I have no idea yet, but have tons of resource material to help me decide. Okay, time to start her up and attack!  KG |

mmm, reminds me that I still need to finish my African kitty. Will be watching with pleasure fellas.
Btw, I got the Feifel kit by Voyager as well but only used the hoses. The style of feifels provided in the set wasn't used on the Tiggies in Africa ^^

Wouter - well great googly moogly! You are correct sir! The filters in the Voyager kit are very different from the box art, parts, and instructions in the kit. Dagum! Dagum! Dagum! First curveball of the project.  JimmyDel - you are correct sir (part deux!). KWK 36 is what I'm looking for! I'll shoot you a PM for sure. That's a real nice offer, thought I don't know if Alfalfa is worth a steak. Maybe a cheeseburger at Mickey D's...  Some progress tonight. Completed the rear armor plate on the hull and all of the suspension arms. Only took me an hour and one sliced thumb from the XActo. LOL! Hopefully more over the weekend. KG |
