Good evening Terry, Thank you for the compliment. Good evening Luigi, I am most glad to hear that. I kinda like the direction as well…..until I tried soldering this evening….more on that below. Good evening Grahame, Thank you for the compliment and, for popping in for a gander. A lot of time at the bench this evening. Unfortunately a chunk of it was trying to get the fuel drum racks soldered together. But first, the progress how it started The rear hull spare track holders. I took a couple of spare MK links, eight short sections of 0.040" rod and, a template to make sure everything was symmetrical. A side shot to show the side skirts are on and, the use of the Pana-vise to hold the beastie so that I may easily work on the rear hull. One unditching log mounted. The mounting brackets were the PE offerings. These were a delight to work with The PE fuel drum racks were a pain in the A** to solder. In the time I spent trying to complete the second rack I could have built all four scratch built ones. They are not yet complete but, you get the idea. Dave

This is really looking the part Dave, I just looked through your photobucket shots and the detail you've put into this kit is amazing. That PanaVise looks to be a handy tool to have on one's bench, really does free your hands up to work on the kit and exactly what I been looking for. Thanks for sharing Dave.

Making good progress on the rear details Dave. Can definitely see how those fuel drum brackets would've been a challenge!

Good evening T, Thank you good sir for the compliment. It's getting there. Work for the next few days is going to put a crimp of bench time. Good evening Sabre, Thank you very much for the compliment and for taking the time for a gander. The Pana-vise has multiple attachments for the vise portion. The one I have set up in that particular picture can work in either direction. This way I placed it inside the turret ring and opened it up. Good evening Bill, Thank you as always for your support. The fuel drums were going to put me in a lovely, canvas wrap around sports coat with buckles. And all of the thorazine I could want…… More work on the fuel drum racks today. It all went rather swimmingly. The PE straps as nice as they are, were not going to work with the set up I had built. So, necessity being the mother of invention, I fashioned some brass wire couplings made from 0.019" wire. These are a link between the racks and the straps. In this pic, I played around with manual settings for the digi cam….finally. I need to work/practice more in that arena. Dave

I don't do a lot of post WWII armor but I do like the Soviet stuff. And this is nice looking Soviet stuff right here.

Good evening and thank you Luigi! Good evening WIngNut, This is my first foray into anything post WWII or Soviet armor. Thank you kindly for the compliment. Fuel drums are mounted and, plumbed. The two different fuel lines came with the kit. The smooth one I'm guessing is some sort of vinyl? The ribbed one, I realized when trying to cut it is actually a length of spring. Inside both of them is a section of copper wire to help hold shape. PE bands hold the hoses together. More of the tow cable. The last of the PE hinge/clasps are done. I launched enough of them to end up having just the right amount. Dave

Coming along nicely Dave! Some neat work with the plumbing, I always thought the Soviets were a little crazy with the fuel drum arrangement on the rear of their tanks but I suppose it also helps ensure they always stay pointed towards the front!

Good evening Helico, Thank you very much for the compliment. Good evening Andy, You're basing our relationship purely on the physical attraction you have for my tank. Now go and take a cold shower!. Good evening Noname, Thank you kindly for the compliment. Good evening Bill, The external fuel tanks always raised my eyebrow. Apparently it works…..still….I'm not quite sold on it. Good evening Leon, The plumbing went much easier than I would have thought. Though, there was a bit of a pause when I realized the reason the ribbed tubing wasn't cutting was that it was a spring. Gentlemen! We have primer! The bloody turret with gun is longer than the hull with fuel tanks. The black CA work quite well for sloppy weld beads. I was having some issues with the focus. Note to self….must get tripod now that I am using manual settings. The primer really brings out the detail. Here you can see the rib detail of the fuel hose. The clasps were on of those details that you almost couldn't see. Paint is going to cure that problem. Dave
