OK I worked on the topside of con tower. I like the improved look... it looks beefed up. I know rivet counters would scream DEATH to me! LOL If anybody have seen Alexander Glass' work on his Seehund, you will understand why I liked his build very much. Finally got to use this tool and I liked it very much! I have two sets... round and hexagon shaped rivets.

Beautiful stuff there Marc!! The details pile on!! Nice Andy...LOL!! Think I went a bit overboard on the typing with that one!! But it was fun! Oddly enough, the site only shows the 4th issue is the last one out??? Not sure what is going on there.

Very nice detail work from the both of you guys! Marc, I suppose being askew is fine as long as you don't end up parallel in the end!

I just caught up on this thread. Can't really add anything technical to the discussion, but I love the work I'm seeing. I may have to track this kit down...some really inspiring work. You killed it on the torpedoes.

Anthony came to see me at ArmorCon and he allowed me fondle his model kits. One day I hope to meet Marc... perhaps IPMS in Columbus? LOL Jimmy, thanks buddy!

Worked on the figure last night... my first time using one from Royal Model. I thought it was OK... it was not cheap so it should have been as good as Alpine or Evolution. Cleaning was definitely needed... it pays to have a Dremel tool! Trying to figure out what he is holding? Water balloon? Chicken leg? Bottle? LOL You can see its not as crisp as others. There are several air bubbles I need to cover too. Took me nearly an hour and half to get them together. He is ready to be primed next along with the mini-sub.

Ooooo we get to guess at the mystery blob in his hand! I know, it's a bosun's pipe! Looks like you've got some work there to do on the figure but I'm sure you can turn it around Andy.

Boy, that's some nasty molding on that figure. It's almost sad to think that you have to pay to be abused so bad! Looks like you did manage to get it cleaned up, though. Good work!

Bruce- Thanks man! Hoping you get to see it at the show... that's my goal. Mr T- Thanks boss... you know how much I love painting my little figures. LOL Professor- LOL! Thanks I think it looks OK now... definitely extra care when compared to other resin figures. Wizard- LOL! Loved the smell of pipe when I was a kid... my uncle smoked one often. Thanks! Marc- Man, I am really looking forward to Columbus... we will buy each other drinks then we will be best friends! Bob- I agree... I paid $18 plus shipping. When I opened the box, I was amazed how bad it was. I was expecting it to be as good as other resin figure makers. I will be keen about ordering more figures from Royal Model in the future unless they are the only player in the game like this German seaman since nobody else offer. I think it came out OK...

Andy that works for me. But if all it takes is drink... oh boy are we gonna be GOOD friends LOL. Still waiting for the Archer rivets but while the wee little things are drying on that mother Fokker I added the weld to the base of the tower, and the travel stops for the control surfaces. I also saw some model... and 1:1 subs... with a lip around that flat area of the tower. I liked it so added that too. And I just had to stick the fish up there with some funtac to see what it's gonna look like.

T, Andy, Bill.. thanks fells. Disaster averted today. I was clean up the pop and decided that it needed a bit of thinning. Should have left well enough alone. The Dremel chattered across one the the blades and chunked the edge. Once it was reshaped I was able to reshape the other 2 to match so it looks OK just a bit smaller but don't think it'll show. Then there s good new... and bad news. The good new is PRIMER TONIGHT... WOOHOO! The bad news is making a couple hundred balls of fun tack.

Can't believe I missed this thread!! Awesome to see everyones different approach to this kit! @ ANDY....I bet you started to get a "sinking feeling" and had to gasp for "air" after opening the figure box lol For the amount of money you paid, you would expect the figure to be crisply casted! It looks like he has one of those mini bananas in his hand (your guess is as good as mine!) and most of it looks sloppy in general. I hate having to wait for a figure to find out that it's a bum deal. I just picked up a figure from Polish company Mantis...I was expecting the worse but it's up there with Alpine etc. Looking forward to see the rest of this build off!! Cheers, Shay
