Very True Bill. It's amazing how quickly things go when I don't have to make all of the parts.

Thanks Bill and Sam. It's going slowly right now. I'm fixing some of the seams, so it's a matter of: fill, sand, prime, swear, repeat. I'm hoping to have a bit more to show very soon.

Good morning Bruce, I am glad that I did not miss this build. What you have thus far is quite impressive. Not to mention that it's a tribute build to your uncle. I've had this one in the stash for some time now, so I'll be following this build with keen interest.

Thanks Dave. It's a pretty straightforward build with a few quirks (as with ever other kit). I am making progress, so I hope to have an update in a few days.

Hello all, It has been a good few days on the Mitchell. She's basically together. I still have a little detail work to do on it, but not too much. By the way, the nose and cowlings are only on her temporarily. The instructions suggest not mounting them permanently until after paint and decals. Thanks for looking in.

Thanks Andy. The base is just a small cardboard box I cut so the fuselage would sit in it.

Looks like a handy way to keep her out of trouble until you get the paint on Bruce. Looking good!

Thanks Bill. You are correct. I had to raise her up so I wouldn't break the nose gear. that was the best I could come up with (it works). I may even use the box while I am putting paint on.

Hello everybody, After about a month of waiting for mother nature to cooperate, I finally got the base coat on the Mitchell. I have started putting a few decals on, but there's still a lot to go. Thanks for following.

Thanks Leon. It's about time with the weather. Of course, it's supposed to be in the upper 80's and humid coming up (Murphy's Law strikes again ).

Thank you George. It shouldn't be too much longer on her. I haven't decided just yet how heavily weathered I will make her, but my uncle did tell me the planes were not clean at all.

Nice to see paint go down on this one Bruce. I always count my blessings that I live in a relatively low humidity area most times of the year. That and painting indoors with a moisture trap ensures I'm not as constrained by the whims of nature. Hope she cooperates with you on the next round!
