Nice work. I especially like your boat and the ground work. A couple of the plants look very similar to a species that is popular in New Zealand although illegal to grow here.

I think I know wich plants you mean. It's also illegal to grow them in germany too. But lots of people like them To plant them on my dio is just a joke. In the netherlands you can visit a coffee shop and order the stuff like a tea or coffee and enjoy the smoke while sitting there with a beer. A lot of german take that chance when they are going to Amsterdam on their way to the sea.

I didn't notice them at first Peter, good catch! At a show recently I came across some laser cut versions of some ganja...I could already see a "Cheech and Chong" type of vignette in the making! Did you make them yourself btw?

Looks a bit like taken from Fredericus Rex, lasercut paper plants?

Hi lunaiko,
Hope you don't mind if I tag along, this one is getting interesting. I'm really looking forward to seeing your water effects come to life as well, it's one part of modelling that has always held a fascination for me.
Cheers and thanks for sharing.

Re - Your funny plants. I enjoy your sense of humour. Life is far to important to be taken too seriously !. Speaking of "Grass " The photos showing your fence has some really good looking grass around the base of the fence. I think the best grass I have seen. What brand is this grass ?. I think the Germans make some of the best model grass. I have quite a few brands but lately have preferred Greenline by Fredericus Rex. I also like Mininatur grasses and some of the Noch products. Have you coloured the grass ?
Your water is looking good. I followed your link and guessed you were experimenting with several methods. I could not understand the text with it being in German. Thankfully the pictures were in English.
What struck me the most from your recent pictures is the rock formations beside the water - These look fantastic . Great work.

Thank you Bill, Peter and sabre. Peter, I will explain my experiments with the ocean water, when I finish my small piece of it. But you're right, I tested different materials (acryl, glue, plaster). I used a mixture of a few grasses. NOCH and mininatur. Made small tufts with my selfmade grassmaster and put them an the dio. Around the fence posts I placed them with a tweezers. And last I took a few mininatur weed tufts.

Thank you Angi for explaining the grass to me and taking the time to photograph the grasses. You have done a fantastic job with the grass as I thought you had added pre made tufts. I did not realise you had made your own tufts.

Yepp. It is very easy to make tufts. I use a brass plate and a thin plastic foil. Then I put some wood glue in different sices on the foil and put the fibres an it using a selfmade grassmast (it's not made by me but baught at ebay). I make a few pics to show you... First you can see the brass plate. Top right you can see the electrical contact to my grassmaster. I have to be careful by using. Several times I got an electric shock I take to kinds of fibre for this demonstration. A short (6mm) wild grass beige and a long (12mm) wild grass Putting glue on the plastic foil Then I fill the grassmaster with the shorter fibres first I put the fibres on the glue positioning my grassmaster near the plate. Then shake off the fibres with no contact to the glue. Repeating this step 2 or 3 times. The same with the longer fibres. Repeating that steps until I am satisfied. After finishing I use my latest toy That keeps the fibres stand up more

Thanks for the information on making the grass tufts. I made one of those " grass masters " a couple of years ago. You need an electric fly swatter, the type that zaps them on contact. Looks like a tennis racket. Uses batteries. Can be found quite cheap. There are several tutorials on You tube about how to make one. I experimented with mine once but have not used it since. I did not think about trying to make tufts with it. Thank you again for your wise tips Angi.

Thanks, Oli. I had a very good teacher. And I think, I will visit him for more lessons in the future. Yesterday there were only me and him and he told me about 6 hours how to use the airbrush. Thanks for your praise too I just colored some saw dust to build more heather for the last area of my base plate. And I really need the navigation light soon to finish the lighthouse. I have to call my nephew And then... the last step, the ocean. Hope it will look like I want I think, I slowly can order my next project. I plan to build a wooden ship. Edit: @oli, yesterday I almost worked with an Evolution gun by Harder & Steenbeck. There's such a different between that gun and my Ultra! It's much easier to dose the color and it comes more immediatly. And the very best was that I was able to put the color at the place I wanted it to have

yes, you have more and precise control over the whole range of airbrushing with a good gun... in my opinion. ohh yes, start building a wooden boat.... i love wooden boats. in fact i started modelling with a wooden boat... still not finished, but i will continue to work on it in winter again... ;-)
