Morning John,
Coming on nicely. Really like your castings, engines games out fantastic, especially with all the detail you have on it.
Keep it up.
Chris.

Thanks for watching! Engines mounted! They're not perfectly symmetrical. But then again, neither was my first girlfriend.
Sealing the gaps with epoxy putty. The kid's school is having their annual fundraising book fair. Turns out I made an "investment" in reference materials. There are two other vehicles in here I might consider for a scratchbuild....Perhaps in a galaxy far, far away. Sideboards and saddlebags next!

Thanks for the encouragement! With the engines finally installed I think I'm now past the halfway point.. Continuing work on the "saddle bags" and some brass handrails. Final goal. My New Hope! Right now it just seems so far, far away.
Yet to go: 1. Triangular cooling fin thingies forward of the saddle bags. 2. Longitudinal strakes under each side of the forward section 3. Landing gear bays and gear leg install. 4. Hydraulic actuators for both the engine fins and the drop ramp. 5. Paint! Paint! Paint! A few days away at earning a living and then I can get back to the shop where the important stuff happens!

Man, excellent work as usual! Why bother buying kits when you can just scratch your own, right?

Thanks, gents for stopping by. 5 days on the road to arrive at home just in time for a major snow event. Adding bumpy bits to the top of the saddlebags.
These round disks on top of the saddlebags have been proving a challenge. I think I'm going to go with styrene shapes since it's the easiest to cut and manipulate.
Also using more putty to blend in the engines. (Water helps to smooth the putty.)
May be in the shop for a couple of days due to the snow. If that's the case, I think I can get a lot done on this one.

Nice work on the bumpy bits and putty John! Sounds like the styrene shapes are the way to go on this.

Awesome work! That's a great idea also for using drawer liner for holding your model.

Superdetailing is extraordinaire! Looks very busy and detailed, really loving it. What to say more? And it cries out for a weathering job! Just cannot wait to see how many figures you will add!

Thanks for posting in. Doing the segmented circle things. The reference book says that they're atmospheric intakes for life support. Cleaned up easier than I thought. Old resin parts used for a solid gear leg mount
Forward gear bay.
Aft gear bay. Where things stand at the moment. I've got to get back to work for a few days and then will have most of April off. "So I've got that goin' for me. Which is nice."

Thanks, everybody! Back at home again. Testing landing gear height.
Forward repulsor array----Obviously.
Forward gear bay with a bit of the German "shtarwarzen" technique applied.
"Heat Exchangers" added at the A$$ end.
Yep. Those are exactly what you think they are.
