Hi guys, no, this isn't the much rumoured blog, this is simply a mini? blog outlining my attempt to bring this kit back to life. I started this quite some time ago and for some reason that's still not clear, the paint (the red bit) went on really badly. Suffice to say I lost interest until I had a rethink on it over the weekend. So here's my start point... The intention is to try and get it looking somewhere near as good as our very own Sean's one that many of us enjoyed a while back. I will start with trying to get the paint right and see how it goes from there. This will not be a quick one, I will dip in and out as and when both time and enthusiasm dictate.

No guys, the title is simply a statement of fact, the second pic makes it look a whole lot better than it really is. First stage is to rethink the colour coat, the instructions call for TS-49 Bright Red but I will Run with TS-8 Italian Red as it looks a touch nearer where it should be.
The instructions also call for the decals NOT to be lacquered over so I need to get my best glossing abilities out of retirement for this one!
Appreciate ya company troops.

Chaps, hellooo. Mybe I need to change the title but to be honest it's the best my aged brain could come up with.
Thanks Boots for the kind comment about the Chevy paint, I reckon I can improve on that...

No probs Neems, public info is important especially if it results in more Chrimbo kits!

Tried to post an update earlier but kept getting a message saying the image I was posting had been moved or deleted when clearly it hadn't. Will try later.

Ok chaps, here's where we're at, Tamiya TS-8 laid on and buffed back and the belly pan received Gloss Black. Tiny bit of work still to do but it's looking a whole lot better than it did!

Aaaah the Buff, hmm, wonder when... The detail set does add a little something but I really need to check what the set contains. I did have one but popped it when I lost interest in the kit. grrrr.

Hi Sean, thanks fella!
Yep, the Monster Tech Yam looks like a real neat subject, I reckon that would be splendid fun, with or without a detail set!

Right. Engine has received some attention at last. Nice, big V4 but nowhere near as busy looking as some other motors. Has enough detail and scrubs up fine, as usual, most will be obscured from view unless you plan to display her naked...ooo errr! Gave it the Lightest of washes but may go over it again, radiator is a dry fit purely to stop the engine falling over while I took a pic of it!
