That hatch is ridiculous! How long does it take to do something like that? Do you have to do it twice?

WOW! Superb PE work especially the hatch! I spot a figure in the background in one of your pics so are you planning to include figures too?

That hatch is ridiculous! How long does it take to do something like that? Do you have to do it twice? Well, I didn't take time, but something like 45minutes I would say. Hinges arenthe worst part, but when younget used to techique how to make them it's not that bad. i will make only turret hatch open, and actually that hatch needs few details more to be opened inside.

I will try to include it, figure painting is not my strongest area. If I get it to look ok, I will place it. It's alpine early war german tank crew, so the quality is great.

I am in awe of your PE skills! The KV2 is one of my favorite Soviet ww2 era vehicles…it is just so “Russian”!
Are you glueing or soldering the PE when you construct something like that hatch? If glue, what is your preferred type/brand?

Are you glueing or soldering the PE when you construct something like that hatch? If glue, what is your preferred type/brand? I like to solder bigger parts, especially if they need to damaged. Then glue small details to it. For glue I'm using Ak or vms black superglue, black that I can see better where it is spilled. Then vms debonder to clean things up. For solder I like to use british brand "carr's" solder and flux, those are railway modeling stuff and meant for photoetch soldering.

Thank you for the explanation. I really like the VMS Black Flexy glue.

No problem! As speaking for pe parts, started making tool boxes.

COOL! I am officially now huge fan of VMS superglue as I have been using them for last 2-3 months. But I haven't tried the black version so I definitely will order that along with debonder because I had a piece stuck on my finger last night that gave me a big scare and I didn't have any debonder handy. LOL
I need to give soldering a try one day... I am not that brave like you guys!

Haha, that sure is a situation when debonder would be handy Vms makes really good modeling stuff. I encourage you to try soldering it makes working with pe a lot easier when you get used to it. Use as little solder as possible and lots of flux.

Is that all completed with CA glue or is there any soldering?

Thanks for interest. Yes, I think that there is no point to spent hours for using PE and leaving it without dents etc.

A few more details added. Plug for pistol port, resin part came in etch set and added thin copper wire for cable as reference picture shows. Also wires for headlight and siren. Antenna base is from panzerart.
