How? Just how did you get that effect? Quite fast and easy. 1.Base coat with blackening fluid. Both tracks were different time to get some variation. 2.Chipping with sponge and acrylic colors. Dark, med and light tone. 3.Rust colored enamel wash 4.Just a hint of pigments to give some dust. 5.Finally metallic color with pencil.

Thank you! Yesterday I went totally out of my comfort zone and tried some figure painting in years.. Far from perfect, but I had really fun when painting it. There is oil paint drying in belt, so it's a bit shiny in pic.

Thank you! I was a little nervous to go and see how the resin is cured, or is it. It was! No problems at all. Next I will focus on all the rubbish that is left on site. It's the little things like what's pictured that throws a build like this over the top. Excellent attention to detail going on in this thread Jukka. Un.....believable stuff man.

No kidding!!! I find it helpful to use lighter black tone as base such as NATO black or black-gray then use true black for depth then dark gray for highlighting. This was my first attempt painting black jacket and it didn't come out good because I used black as base coat to start with many years ago. My last attempt painting black uniform and I think it came out better. I always enjoy your updates and please keep posting buddy!

I have to agree with everyone else, great detail on the tracks, let alone the figures. They're pretty dang good for not having done any in a while. This is going to be a fine dio, IMHO!

Added a little lenght of small chain in tool box. I need to check my spares box what else I could find. It's a soviet vehicle and a big hammer is a must have tool.

I imagine that most all useful items would have been picked clean by the first troops to come across the vehicle, then by follow on souvenir hunters, and anything left to be found afterwards would be the proverbial “ash & trash”.

The inside of that toolbox looks pretty darn convincing Jukka. How’s you make the rag and then weather the chain?

The inside of that toolbox looks pretty darn convincing Jukka. How’s you make the rag and then weather the chain? Thanks! Rag is made from vms paper and paper shaper fluid. It's a very thin, like a cigarette paper, but it doesn't rip when wet. Chain was already black so I just stippled a little rust colored pigments to it.

I made a red rag for my Corvette but am always looking to improve so I'll be looking more into this vms paper and paper shaper fluid. Thanks Jukka!
