Ah what the hell, I really fancy building something in 1/48th and it's been years since I built a FW190. Also being new to the forum it'd be nice to join in with you guys and get to know you all a bit better
Joe put me down for one of these - don't get too excited, it'll be badly built and brush painted.
Cheers!
Stuart
First off, this'll be fun to watch you build up and secondly.......what....EVER on the build quality. You'll do a great job at this Stuart. Glad to have you in here brother.
LOL! Well I should do okay :-D Thanks oe - glad to be here!

A short update now that I got back to the bench this weekend. I received the Eduard A-8 engine a couple of months ago and decided to start on that before continuing on the bird. I painted a black base and started to add various metallics to it Using reference photos of 190 engines. I'll continue painting and weathering it tomorrow.

It's great to see you have this on the bench! The BMW801 will look awesome with the cowls open! Wonderful progress you have made on it so far with the cockpit done and installed inside the fuselage

Here is the engine with the wires attached. I don't know when I'll be back at the bench but I'll try to finish the engine then.

Just a quick word to let you all know that there is still 4 months left in this GB so there's still enough time to grab a kit and join in.

Hey all! I'm jumping on my FW-190 - finally! It aligns nicely with the 100th Episode GB over on the PPP, so I can feed two birds with one scone. This will be a straight OOB build. I toyed with some aftermarket decals, but have decided to stick with the kit options. I've made minor, but steady, progress on the build. Tonight I started to dress up the office, but with the canopy closed, I know a lot of it will be hard to see, so I won't go all out on this.

Hmmm. Just picked this up. Perhaps I’ll do a quick and simple build to add to the GB.

bbrowniii, Great progress! kyledehart5, Would be cool to see you get another bird in this GB Kyle! I'll be watching for this one. These old matchbox kits are so simple I’ll likely get into it soon. Won’t try to elevate it much. Just paint it and do a little weathering. Even though I love the colors matchbox injected these in. Lol

Hi guys. Sorry for the long silent time. I have been, you guessed it, working on my house. But, since I have more room now and this room is no longer holding building tools, I have moved my bench from my GF's house and put it where it will likely stay for a while. At least, until bet sheetrock on and flooring down. My GF was exceedingly kind to let me take up room in her house, but I never really got a lot of time to work on anything on the rare occasions I was there. Here's the bench set up for now. Getting back to work on the Butcher Bird. It's a little crude but does the work, and while I'm short on money for house materials ATM, I'm not short on kits or modeling supplies. Also for you who didn't see the completed front of my house, heres the before and after. My workbench is between the two windows on the right.
