Last night at the bench was a lesson is control of ones self. I decided to get some work done on the wing, since I realized that the kit offering for harnesses is woefully inadequate. I've got a set coming from HGW. So, Ive got both port and starboard wings mounted to the center section. The extended wing tips for the G2 are on. It's impressive, as the span is a tick over 19 inches. Here I am all impressed with how this massive wing looks, and I push back from the bench. As I do so, the wing catches my hand (still trying to figure that one out), and the wing skitters to the ground as I am backing up. The wing gets caught under the caster, and is dragged about an inch. It felt like several yards at that point, because I can hear the sound of plastic being scrapped along concrete. Knowing full well what is happening to the plastic, along with all of that exquisite detail that is being obliterated. I dropped a series of F Bombs along the way. I then immediately got to work formulating a plan to fix the carnage. The detail repair is planned out. I have several hand made tools I've not used in a while, but will work perfectly for just such repairs. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Here, I've already sanded down the proud plastic down. Â
Bondo to the rescue! Sorry that happened but it looks like you’ve already gotten the repairs well in hand. Nice work. At least it’s on the underside AND the gun pods are not yet mounted.

When I saw what happened I swore right along with you... Looks like a step backwards but I have no doubt you'll handle it just fine I was carpet bombing with F bombs. I am grateful that nothing was yet mounted on the underside of the wing.

Ooooo... I feel ya. I haven't scraped parts to my recollection, but I sure have mashed a handful of small ones into oblivion. Looks like you have a nice start on the refurbishing.

This thing looks massive! That amount of putty work looks pretty daunting. The surface detail looks great, I’m excited to see this be built!

Looks like a good save from your chair incident! Luckily it's on the underside.
Does the plastic have a bit of texture on this kit?

The putty work is inevitable since I took the equivalent of 60 grit to the wing. I look at it as a refinement of skill sets. I am looking forward to restoring the wing today.

Looks like a good save from your chair incident! Luckily it's on the underside. Does the plastic have a bit of texture on this kit? Thank you!. Very lucky. I started playing around with building the gun pods. All I could think of was how much worse the damage could have been. Shot at and missed. Sh*t at and hit! It certainly looks like it has a texture, though it's nothing I can feel. We shall see once I start laying down paint.

Yesterday, I was at least able to fix the damage to the wing. I also played around with the cannon muzzles. They were molded open on the end already, but I thinned the wall with a couple of dremel bits by hand. I also drilled out the perforations on the muzzle.

The guns look real nice! Looking forward to see the result of 3D printed decals soon. '1995' was a great year for me and my wife by the way.

I’ve heard good things about them. This will be a first for myself. In ‘85 I was midway through my nursing program. That was an age ago it seems
