WHEW! What a great safe! I hate those moments... it seems to happen during every build now for me. Your Stuka is looking so good right now and I am sure it can make the whistle of death now. Thank you. There does seem to be more than one moment of "Uh oh!" with my builds as well anymore. I don't know if it'll whistle yet but for a while there I was the "Laments of Regret" noise generator there for a bit.

You pulled that out of the fire without getting burned. Great save! The pod looks fantastic Thank you. I am pretty happy with the pods. The whole thing is getting closer to being prepped for paint.

That’s another really nice recovery. Looking great! Thank you. I am going to try to take this one across the finish line without need of another recovery.

There was progress today. Not leaps and bounds, but progress nonetheless. The canopy was masked and painted. Given the scale and size of the beast, I used Eduard T-face mask. Since you can see a fair bit of the cockpit through the greenhouse canopy. The canopy is only dry fitted here. This picture was a bit tricky. I'll see if I can set up some better lighting. I added Gaspatch flexible ammo belt for the guns. There is a learning curve to them. I still snapped the left belt after mounting the gun. I was able to set the right sided belt into place. They do add a nice touch. Paint has been laid down on the exterior. The spinner and backing plate were base coated with Mission Models Duraluminum to allow for chipping. The top coat is Mission Models RLM 70. I opted to paint the spiral to allow more control for chipping than a decal would allow me. I used Insignia White. Cheers Dave

I have eyeballed those gun belts in the past, they will look wonderful especially under that huge canopy! They sound fragile with your experience with them

It seemed to work pretty well. The one that I broke was on me, I was trying to cold form a radius and it said “No!” It was kind of a test run for me, as I’ve got a large scale Lancaster in the stash that I’m contemplating using these belts in.

Those ammo belts sure do add a nice touch to that rear gun assembly Dave and it's good to see this beast in the pre-painting stages. I've definitely got a front row seat for this.

Always glad to have you along. I’m just waiting on the harness set, so that I can button up the canopy and get to priming

The gun pods received their top coat of paint the other day, and this evening I was able to get around to getting some chipping done. More weathering to follow. All of the parts are glued together, with the exception of the barrels. They will be the last thing to be mounted, as I do not want to snap them off with all of the handling yet to happen. Cheers Dave

It looks as the fine detail on the pod is much crisper than the Trumpy kit I built. This kit intrigues me more and more. Pod looks great with the chipping effect you put on it

There is a fair bit of fine detail on this kit. I had to take care when glueing the fuselage halves together, that I did not obliterate the rivet detail.

Prop and gun pods looking awesome!! This’ll be one sweet looking bird. Thank you! With the gun pods dry fitted, it is a very intimidating looking bird. I am awaiting the harnesses. Once they show up I can then button up the canopy and start laying down paint.

I got a bit restless and got tired of waiting for the harnesses, so I've got the metallic undercoat done. Mostly that is. Everything is coated up to but not including the canopy and the area immediately adjacent to it. I took this approach when I built a Tamiya Spitfire Mk. IXc in 1/32. For me, the end result was well worth the effort. The paints were a mix of Mission Models and Vallejo metallics. Thank you for having a look see. Cheers Dave
