Looking good Joe! Can't wait to see you work your magic on this one. Thanks John. I just ordered a set of cloth seat belts from Eduard so I can lay them off to the side as if to be ready for a pilot to jump in the seat and strap in. When I built my 262 I positioned the seat belts as they were formed like so: I've built several aircraft where I'll just leave the seat belts in the seat the way that they are formed and am starting to believe that it's probably not the way that they were positioned so to speak. On this one I want to lay the seat belts out of the way a little.

That makes sense Joe. Think back to the lap belts in older cars - strewn across the seat. The only reason they would be nice and neatly placed is if the crew did that as part of post flight stuff I'd think.

Seat belts are usually a mess in the pilot's seat of a 1 seater, but in others a good crew keeps everything fastened together to keep the belts from fouling controls.

Great reference picture John ( keavdog) and thank you for sharing that. I managed to make a couple of changes so far to the interior. One of which was the usage of PE rudder pedals from Eduard. Kit parts are kit parts and the plastic ones just didn't look right. Same goes for the control column as I robbed that from one of the spare Fw-190 A kits that I had in the stash. Flip switch / guard for the button at the top of the column hand grip was added using a PE strip that I had and I added the column wiring retainer at the bottom of the column shaft made from a BMF strip and given a coat of flat clear to tone the chrome effect down into a metallic look. Pilots seat is all painted up, detailed and weathered and is ready for the seat belts that came in the mail yesterday.

Your cockpit is off the charts brother. You are certainly still in the groove when it comes to cockpits. Really choice work. Those cloth seatbelts will really top it off. Superb.

Joe good luck with the procedure Well gang.....I'm back. Not 100% but I'm here. I can't do anything strenuous for the next few weeks so I spent what time I could at the bench today putting the cloth seat belts together. I got one side of the shoulder harness done. PE part on the left and cloth on the right. HUGE difference.

So glad to hear that the procedure seemingly went well and that you are back home at the bench. Time to take it easy and get yourself back in order. That starts with quality bench time and it appears that that you are on it. The cloth belts really look the part. More so than the PE ones. Nice work on them.

So far so good on the recovery. Chest hurts when I stand up or lie down but that's supposed to be expected as they pretty much had a soldering iron in my heart. lol

First, it's great that you got through (both) procedures well and your doing ok. Just remember to take it easy partner!! Second, I had to laugh because yesterday I spent time at the bench on my harnesses as well. Are you using the Eduard fabric set or ?

My body aint gonna let me go that fast. I'm using the HGW set with Eduard PE. Funny about you doing the harnesses on yours too. lol
