Thank you for the comments fellas. Brent: ( handiabled) I am indeed going to have this one opened up. Well gang......this isn't a stall out. I'm spending a TON of time now so that this will all go together without a hitch later on in the build. After taking off some of the inside edges and thinning the fuselage around the top of the engine area and removing a little bit of detail from the top of the engine I think this is going to fit in there well. I'm going to have to be careful with the added details on the engine so as not to contact the fuselage but I'm feeling good about it all so far.

Joe - just catching up on all this, glad to hear that you are on the mend from your procedures, I will echo the crowd that hobby "time" is a great form of therapy when recovering. Both the cockpit and the ZM engine modifications look outstanding. Keep plugging away my friend!

Fit looks pretty dang good Joe. I'm getting antsy looking at all these 190's... Thanks Eric!! Come on in and join the fun brutha!! Glad you could shoe horn it into place Joe! Thanks Brent! So far so good! Joe - just catching up on all this, glad to hear that you are on the mend from your procedures, I will echo the crowd that hobby "time" is a great form of therapy when recovering. Both the cockpit and the ZM engine modifications look outstanding. Keep plugging away my friend! Matt No trouble so far outside of this stupid medication that they are giving me to keep my heart in rhythm. Stuff makes me so dang tired and worn out ALL the time. It'll all end in less than 60 days no when I can get off of all of these meds. Ok fellas.....I've been mostly not here on the forum as of late. Some of it is my medication that just makes me so dang tired that I can't sit in front of a computer for very long and then the other half of it is my wife just wanting to spend time together. I guess this last go round with the ablation scared her some and we've been hanging out together alot more these days. It's nice.....it really is. I miss the forum for the next few weeks but we've needed to spend time together for a while now and this is all working out nicely. Just to show you all that I am in fact building on this bird I've got a bit of an update. I now feel comfortable enough with the fit of the engine and mounts in the fuselage to go ahead and put some paint and weathering on the ol 213. Along with the references that I did have already, good ol' Brent ( handiabled) supplied me with some VERY good reference shots of one of these powerplants. Here's with the base engine built up and some light weathering put down. Still got A LOT of assembly to go with this engine as there are a good number of parts but I wanted to get a good start on it:

The engine looks great so far Joe! That's a good looking engine!!! Thanks fellas! Been trying to dirty this one up a tad more and aim for a little more realism with the rubber and metal pipes on the sides of the engine block. This ZM engine has a LOT of parts to it which I'm liking very much.

Nice finish on the engine, really looks like steel Thanks Tony. I spent more time on the engine yesterday weathering and adding details to this 213 to bring out a bit more realism by adding worn effects as well as dirtying things up in a subtle way to give a good used effect to the engine without going overboard. Where we are this morning:

You are doing some really fine work Joe. Your engine is looking awesome. Great job on doing the alterations to get it to fit. It truly is a treat to see you model with open panels and display the detail and paint you put into it.
I am so glad to hear that you are doing well and spending extra time with your wife. That kind of time investment is so valuable. We all too often take that for granted.
Godspeed my friend.

Only 30 more days and I'll be off of this frickin' NASTY medication that I'm on that is holding me back from a LOT right now. I'm still workin' on this and should have an update pretty soon. hasenpfeffer: That .....would be crazy. lol

Okeedokee folks. I haven't fallen off of the planet as far as work from my bench goes. Just been tied up with health and life issues for a while but I'm making a slow comeback. I've been spending a good amount of time with this Jumo 213 and getting everything to work together. I've still got the cannon on the back of the engine and mounting everything to the engine mounting framework but here's the ZM engine so far with the Dragon engine attachment fixtures, exhausts and other tidbits now in place.

Well, that first rate workmanship is well worth the wait. You have that Jumo looking really sharp Joe. Superb painting and detailing. Good to see you finding some time to get to the bench.

Nice work Joe. The metal shade variations and the exhaust manifolds look great. I'd like to hear your technique on the manifolds - wash, pastels other ?
