You have some nice cabinet making skills. I appreciate that Scott, but I really cant take too much credit here. With the tools I have, anyone could do this. Heck, with less tools than I have anyone could do this. We will see what skills I really have when I make the hanging cabinets above the desk. That will require a small amount of skill and good measurements haha. In other news, since I put the paint on these makeshift shelves, I didn't want to not use the corner module thing I made. So I decided to make it a tool storage stand. Brushes, scribes etc. Its not done yet obviously. I think this is a really good setup for me.

Great idea for the corner piece. You have a very nice workplace! No excuses now! For 25 years I either lived with someone who couldn't handle the smell, or had no room at all. Now I have my own space, out of the house and a few hours a week to myself! Cant ask for a lot more than that!

You are getting there... it keeps looking better every time you post an update! Thanks! Besides the cabinet, I have very little left to do. I kind of want to paint it and cover the clear plastic to make it look nicer, but... its not necessary so we will see.

Had all of maybe one hour to myself this weekend. All I could manage was to get a sheet of plywood broken down into the cabinet pieces. Maybe this weekend, but its possible Mom is coming into town so maybe not haha.

Nicely done. I made this from a 4x8 sheet of plywood! Don’t sell yourself short. Good carpentry is a real skill!

CHanged agai! I just didnt like the paint up on the wall. This is on wheels and much easier to grab. Slides under the table and I can move it around while I work.

Let's build some cabinets! That is as far as the boy let me get today haha. Doors and a 2nd cabinet will have to wait. Ignore the mis-matched wood. We are still working with garage scrap pieces and the old desk haha.

Thanks for all the compliments guys. Just trying to stay organized and cutter free. Tried to finish cabinet #1 today, only to realize I forgot to order door hardware. So Ill order that this week. At least its ready for doors and paint. This cabinet will be above the tool box. Moat likely hold books/manuals I use in the garage. and also some electrical tools that have small cases. This frees up room on a bigger metal shelf which I will then use to clear up the work benches. When the other cabinet is built it will hold my drills and other garage stuff. Those two cabinets should get everything off by work benches, and should hopefully keep the place clean and free of clutter.

Great plan! My back garage is in disarray until all the sheetrock is up so I can do the very same thing with the cabinets I have.

Wife dragged me into Daiso (Japanese version of a dollar store or 5 Below type of place) and I found these button hooks I thought to use for pull knobs on my drawers. I had ordered some fancy metal ones off amazon, but these were $1.25 for 6 amazon was 4x that price. They are bigger than I wanted, but for the price. I dont really care. Also started on another module.

You never know what can be found in some of the bargain stores when shopping with the wife. Your bench has really taken shape nicely

You're the DIY hobbyzone With my basic math skills, I worked out to be about $18-$20 for the modules with the Daiso containers as you see them fully built. $6 in materials for the corner piece. So in total Somewhere around $60 for everything I will have. HobbyZone would be about $180 shipped to me. Which again, if you do not have tools, or the space to build I think is a great price. If you factor in my time, the Hobbyzone option is even better haha. Hey those work. Maybe you could paint them for fun. I was thinking about that. Match the grey of the table top Which you cant see anymore haha.

If I were to show my wife this thread she would say some thing realistic like "you would just have everything scattered across the workbench anyways and these would be empty". She know me too well. You are going to have a very envious workspace when you finish!

such nice work James. love it. Thank you! If I were to show my wife this thread she would say some thing realistic like "you would just have everything scattered across the workbench anyways and these would be empty". She know me too well. You are going to have a very envious workspace when you finish! HA! Im lucky that my wife is one of those Marie Kondo types who loves storage and organization. She likes my setup. So while I was busy tooting my own horn on my last post, about how great these were... I was failing to see a slight issue. I was spot on with the measurements. However I failed to take into account the small "feet" on the bottom of these clear bins. SO they wouldnt slide in and out after the glue up. No worries. A file cleared them out in a seconds and were back to smooth operations. Crisis avoided. Were almost done! One more 90 degree type box like I built on the other side and I will relocate this one to the end and I will be wrapped around in storage

Finally got started on these cabinet doors. My first try at a shaker style cabinet door. They are my favorite.
