Ah very nice idea. Get the monitor where you need it and utilize the space too. I like your setup there so you could do some quick research if necessary. Your work space continues to make me envious James!! Lol

This weekend I had plans on finishing my cabinet and making some other small things. However my wife informed me that her job was switching her to a full work from home position. I had to put together shelves and standing desks and install al the other office crap she needs in our loft space. She left to take our son to a family thing I stole 30 minutes to make this quick drawer/monitor stand for my desk. Needed to raise the monitor a bit plus not waste the space. Ill add simple drawers later. Keyboard and mouse go on top while working, which opens up the work area, and I have more storage space. Since I dont want to pull these out all the time, I will use it for extra supply storage. Tapes, paint, etc. If you mounted the monitor to the wall, you could make even more space. I got one of these TV wall mounts at Harbor Freight, they put them on sale all the time for less than $10. Only thing to watch out for it the location of the plug. One of my monitors plugs in at the center of the back where the solid mounting plate attaches, so I'm going to have to cut away part of the mounting plate to use it with that monitor. Getting rid of the stand frees up more desk top than you would think.

This is some cheapo all in one computer I found at one my properties from a commercial tenant that abandoned their space. Surprisingly, it doesn't have a removable back portion to allow for wall mounting. I'm actually thinking about upgrading to a Mac Mini for out here... My son is now old enough to use the home desktop so I pretty much gave up that inside space to him for his school work. This would allow me to choose my monitor and wall mount it. For now, this will do. How is your space coming along Aaron?

I tried to go out and work one of the days, and after 10 minutes no thanks, it was still 90 at 9pm. Temps finally dropped back into the low 90s where they usually are during the summer. I never would have thought 90s were great, but after 114, 90s is awesome. Getting caught up on some yardwork, but I went out last night and got a little work done. I'm hoping to wrap up my under bench storage by the weekend.

Good luck!

So todays post will be long winded but it requires some back story to understand what is happening here haha. My wife works for a company that build cell phone towers. They are closing her office and she is being switched to a full work from home setup. Because fo that, the engineers at her office told her she could take any of the storage and shelving stuff she wanted. So she brought home A LOT of stuff and proceeded to say we needed to clean up the garage. It was a long busy weekend, the garage was a chaotic mess of rearranging, cleaning, building and I'm till exhausted haha. However, the garage is looking better than ever, and I am not even done yet. So my garage is setup for only 1 vehicle. One half for parking, the other half is my work space. Woodworking, auto repairs, and most recently my new build space which is the reason for the thread you are in. The vehicle parked inside is my 97 Nissan hardbody. Its our oldest vehicle. Also the one with technically the lowest dollar value, but is our most important since my father in law gave it to me knowing my son loves it so much and wants it to be his first vehicle. So it stays in the garage away from thieves. The area next to the truck was always a pile of bikes, seasonal décor, my sons outside toy and other junk. Thanks to two new shelving units we brought home, and some junk removal and cleaning the space is looking SO MUCH BETTER. She also brought me home a lot of these blue hardware containers. I mean she brought so many I had to ask dad if he needed some because the garas was full of them. Its like $1000 worth of these bins it was insane. I already had some up on shelves at this point, but this was the state of the work shop before we started. And then we got them up on the way, and on shelves. I also got some smaller ones, and I bought a wall mount for them. She also brought home the smaller black storage unit with all the small drawers and that is awesome. I'm already getting more organized with small parts and stuff. This area is still a bit messy but its getting much much better as I categorize everything. Just have temporary labels on there for now until we do someting nicer. This area was my old build space if you remember from the first posts. Once I get rid of some tools I no longer need/use this will be a great work area for car repairs. Also more bins! This space was full of wood for projects. I finally got it up on the wall with a wood rack. Annnnd now we finally get to my build space haha. I also got this cool storage box with a bunch of larger drawers. This will be super useful. I don't think I will need any more storage for a while now. SO I can focus on finishing cabinets. Hopefully over the next week I will have the garage fully done and we be back on the cabinet builds. which is going to open up some storage space above because I can put my model kit stash inside and free up space for stuff on the ground.

Fully done yeah that never happens, something always requires a change. Looking good though, and nice score on the organizers.

More cleaning! Actually this would be more of a maintenance day. Had to do some bi-annual table saw top cleaning. Next step will be to clean up the bench where the spray booth is. I have a little surprise for this area. My paint booth is getting a new roommate. I wont give it away unless someone happens to guess correctly. Should be a fun addition tot he garage! Gets delivered on August 3rd!

You're getting a 3D printer aren't you. HAHA Yes! My brother is giving me his 3D printer because he is upgrading. I will be getting his Ender 3 S1 Pro. I've never used one before so it will be a fun learning experience.

Since Mike ( Medicman71) guessed right, Ill post a small update. Space has been cleared for my new to me 3D printer that my brother will bring over this Saturday. Started ordering the basic supplies needed to get started. Lubrication for the machine, material for pringint. Still have a few supplies coming in this week. I also need to invest in a cover. Because my shop is also my woodworking space, its covered in dust which is an enemy of 3D printing.

After seeing your posts I am glad that I am not the only one with stickers fetish!!! My cabinet is so full of stickers and you gave me an idea to use the booth for future stickers!

We are up and running with my new (to me) 3D printer! Had some technical difficulties, and some location issues so had to change plans. This will require a bit of shuffling in the garage. It was bigger than originally thought to be so we had to adapt. Managed to get it calibrated and set up. Not a quick task at all. Then made our first real test print. A Cube. I plan to start a new 3D printing thread. Ill post the specs and all the upgrades this little cheap printer has there. Also, I added a few new storage options to the work space.

Added some cool organization to the desk. What you see here is a Sprue holder, Tamiya square jar holders, parts holder and a Testors paint & thinner base with holes for brushes etc. Loving this printer so far!

Making these might make a great selling point in talking my wife into letting me take the leap of a printer.
