Sweet! I used to have that kit but donated to the club for the raffle couple of years ago. You are off to a good start buddy!

I think I have something like that a-molderin' away on the shelf. Eager to see what can be done with this. . . not that I can, but I like to see it!

Off to a good start Kyle! Thank you! I'm along for the ride on this one. Bookmarked! Hopefully it’s a smooth one. Welcome! These can turn out to be very good builds Kyle. Will be watching.... Thanks Joe! I’ll try not to muck it up too bad. Sweet! I used to have that kit but donated to the club for the raffle couple of years ago. You are off to a good start buddy! Thanks Andy!! In someone else’s hands is probably a good spot for this kit but I enjoy the kits like this. Should be able to get a decent result. I think I have something like that a-molderin' away on the shelf. Eager to see what can be done with this. . . not that I can, but I like to see it! Not sure that I can either Lyle but welcome to the show! 🤣 Looking good so far, nice colours ! Gonna be a beast when it’s finished ! Thank you very much!

This should be a fun build to watch. I'm quite sure that you will do it justice. Looks to be a smart take off so far.

I’m confident you’ll turn it into a winner.👍 I believe it’s the lack of functional brain cells that really does it. Too many paint fumes at work and at home. 🤣🤣 Thanks for coming by. I really do love these problem kits. Sometimes they turn out and sometimes they don’t.

Hey Kyle!
My most recent completion (that I kept for myself, anyway) is also an MPC '57 Corvette Gasser, but with a straight axle front end. It looks like a lot of the molds are the same. I changed a lot of stuff, but the age of the kit definitely presented some challenges for me I wasn't expecting. I won't hijack you're thread, but I'll post it up in a new thread soon so you can check it out at your convenience. I'll be watching yours! I know you'll do a great job.

Even though it took a good while for it to penetrate my thick skull. 🤦🏻♂️🤣. I’ve been considering going with a straight front axle myself but may just use the kit parts for this build. Not sure. I am pretty sure the MPC kits are mostly the same as this one. I look forward to seeing yours when you get it posted!

Thumbs up! I built this when I was a kid, it went together with no real issues. Of course I didn’t even paint it back then.

Body sneak peak as the rain finally stopped and I was able to paint a little. I'm going to attempt the kit decals so went with a pinkish scallop to match the pinkish decals. We shall see how that goes.

I’m at work but when I get home I’ll get a photo of the blue paint. It’s a gaianotes prism Pearl, I just don’t remember the name or color.

I’d say it’s similar but this has a lot of green Pearl. The base you paint it over changes how much green you can see.

Those gassers for the 60's and 70's had some wild paint jobs. This will fit right into that.
