Great job on that snow... How did you make it? Thanks! I just mixed baking soda (the stuff that you can also use to clean stuff et ) with water and white glue until it was sludgy enough (although there was a layer of water on top). I then glopped it in and made the track marks. -Oliver

Thanks all Unfortunately, I don't seem to have added enough glue - I tried to smooth a rough bit with my finger, and this happened: I will now (soon, that is) brush on some glue and then sprinkle "Snow" on top - more of a light dusting then heavy snowfall. -Oliver

Thanks, Gary. It's a bit of an annoying setback, but I will make do - I'm going to add a thin layer this time I'm going to try to finish the KV-1S before 2013, but might not be able to do so. -Oliver

I will probably do a lot of work on this and the waffentrager, as there's supposed to be 50cm of snow by the afternoon today! Does anyone happen to know if the hairspray method works under 5-6 layers or paint (due to modulation)?
Thanks, Oliver

Thanks, Oliver I don't see any issue if you do this as long as you protect the previous paint jobs before you do the hairspray technique. I use MM Lacquer Overcoat Lusterless Flat as it comes in small rattle can. I am not sure about others...

Just wanted to let you all know that I probably won't be able to do much work on any of my models, as I have to get ready for exams (where I am, we do 4 classes for 1/2 the year, then exams, then another 4 and more exams at the end). I also need to get an extractor fan before i can do any more AB'ing. and yes, i partially copy- and pasted this to my other builds -Oliver

Thanks guys . For the KV, I will (tomorrow) do a coat of HS and then Russian green, and for the tracks I think I'll add some rust pigments, a wash or two, clear coat for the pigments, and the call it a day - I'm amazed they turned out so well, and don't want to ruin em. Oh, and I painted the tracks with mettalizers gun metal. After that will be the dio - not sure about how much snow. Etc to use this time though. As always, thanks for looking at the progress. I will do my utmost to get another update up tomorrow. -Oliver

Alright, I've added the top coat and have done the HS peeling. There were a couple of areas where the plastic was exposed when i was getting the hang of it, but I've patched them up, and am currently waiting for the HS to dry so i can AB green over them again (then peeling). Here's some pics: While, I may have overdid the rust exposure, I will be adding whitewash tomorrow, which should tone it down. Was always, thanks for looking! -Oliver

Alright I've now added the whitewash, ad i think I can safely say its the best work I've ever done on a tank (not that my previous models set the bar very high ). I'm really happy about how it turned out. ' Pics: After I took the above pictures, I hand painted on a "air identification" cross ( the artist's acrylics that I got are very useful ); Hope you all like ot so far . Tomorrow I'll add a clear coat then start with modulation, brush-painting mg barrels, etc. -OLiver
