Ski
If there are mistakes on that face you need to note them with a large arrow for me to belive it. I could do that face a 2 to 1 scale and it still wouldn't come close to your depiction, wow.

Ah Chris, don't get me wrong Bro, he grumbled the whole time, until he saw he was making progress and a smile developed on his face, lol. He did good! If he's got the hankerin to continue he'll do just fine. Once the blending concept is captured it's just a matter of practice, and more practice....... Thx Leon, I'll be gettin back as soon as I can. I get DT's when I'm away from he bench. Yes Mr. Bones, I do get anal retentive sometimes Bro, especially with them close-ups, lol. Thx for the kind words. Thx again Guys. Cheers, Ski.

Right on Joe, that was fun and yall did great for my first guinea pigs in the lab. First time teaching and yall were very patient. We'll work over the lgithing for better detailed highlights and shadows, but yall got the concept down well now, just a matter of practice. And, those busts are perfect for learning on too.
Great work Joe, keep at it Brotha.
Cheers, Ski.
P.S. Hey, I recognise that area photo, looks prety close to the boat launch and the lake is risin, Yehaaaaaaaaa!

Wheres that boat ramp, I like to keep track of those boat ramps in case they are were I might check them out which is right up there on the important important scale as building models and fishing is something I am better at.

Two boat ramps by my home, one in Marcus about 2 minutes from my front door and another about 6 minutes up the road in Evans closer to Ski's home! The view is from my upper pasture area on my 5 1/2 acres of bliss I call home! LOL!!!

Dang Joe, we gotta burn some meat some day Bro, wez neighbors! Evans launch is just 4 mikes away and the Wave Runners are revin up already! Soon Brother, soon.
Bones Brother, I'm not much for lake fishin, if ya can believe that, but this lake is so big, I'd consider it deep sea fishin, lol.
Ok, back on topic; I think the bust will work after closer examination Joe, so I'll show yall how to recover and Ruck On. Never give up on a project, just get back to it when ya got the gumption to do so. After they dry fully you will see just how easy it is to go back to it and fix it. Oils are transparant by nature, so it makes for easy work all the way around.
Cheers Gents, Ski.

Wow Ski, what a coïncidence ! I saw this one yesterday in the Baugnez '44 Historical Center (Ardennes)in 1/1 scale ! If you ever come to Europe, you should visit the museum, it's a mindblowing tribute to all the US GI's who fought in the Ardennes during the Battle of the Bulge, and especially to those who died in a rain of bullets on a snowy field, by Peiper's troops.

AG, I'd love to get to Europe some day and visit the sites, museums. I have a buddy near the Ardennes, he talks like it's just down the street, arrrggggggg. Yall got some great historical sites to see over there. A visit would certainly bring it home for perspective-sake without a doubt.
JoeMc and JoeC, yall did great guys. We'll hit the ground running on the 21st and take up where we left off. JoeMc, when you get ready, sketch the layout so we can see what you're planning or bring up the photo, would be interested to see what ya got going.
Cheers, Ski.

Howdy Gents, Well I managed to slip into the bunker for a few sessions and have been trying to rework my technique. Long story short, I'm stickin with what works and only adding a few additional steps. So, we'll call it a semi-new method. I'm an oiler and won't cross that great divide to acrylics, not gonna do it. So, that means I will be adding additional layers of transparent oils after the prior coat is fully cured. Ah heck, I'm a slow painter anyways and with four figures to do, timing is just right. I reworked the eyes a bit on the head from before and now I'm working the Verlinden study head I worked on with several of the local guys, FightinJoe and JCon. By no means are we even close to a finish, but I needed to get in an update. I've been away from the bunker way too long. If I want to hit the bunker full swing when the snow flies I gotta get a grip on this semi-new method now, not time to waste. I picked up a few books suggested by and incredible painter, the books seem to hold some great info worth the study. I'm intending on getting all the figures done before the end of December and work over the bikes, weathering, detailing, etc., so I can design the base. Lots still to do, but I'm fired up and ready to crank it full bore. Thx for watchin and all comments welcome. Cheers, Ski. P.S. The nearly finished head still has eye work to be done, but yall get the idea. And please forgive the crappy pics, my camera is not how I left it set last time, go figure.

Ski
It is good to see how the build will end since the start was so spectacular I would hate to think it ended as a Shelf Queen. You will never hear any negative photo comments from me since they would knock my glass house to dust.
