MF72- LOL! Thanks buddy! Dan- Thanks... appreciate it. It has been a FUN build... my favorite so far. Steve- Glad you like it too... I think this time my wife is going to let me have it displayed in the family room or maybe in the dining room. Normally she was against the idea of bringing my builds out of the dungeon. LOL Carl- Really appreciate you tagging along since day one... I know it has been a long four months build. Can't wait to wrap it up and do some final touches such as name tag, etc, Luigi- I was just trying to help our buddies up there in New England to prepare for the snow storm... thanks my friend! Tony- Thanks uncle! Fortunately I had plenty of help coming from my yard. Ever since my return to the hobby I have been obsessed on how nature looks... what will be next? Marc- Thanks for the nice words... glad I am able to finish it before you finish your FOURTH build. LOL

Andy, the base is looking great. Nice tip on useing the snow. I have some of this but not tried it yet. I will give that method a go.
Are you sure this isn't ready for this months MoM.

I didn't want to say anything Andy to put you under pressure... but/// I AM getting ready to paint Marc- LOL! Please just give me one or two more days then I will officially call it done. I am trying to remember who did those cool name tags for the bases. Was that you? Bish- Thanks mate! You will enjoy the snow part... be sure to have watered down white glue as it really helps it down. I had mixed snow flakes on the tool and just poured couple of watered to push it off the tool down onto the base. That method was much easier than using my fingers... Yep it is about 99.5% complete. I think I need to add more mud on the wheels... they look too clean, what do you think?

Thnaks Andy, i will keep that in mind. I have a Tiger II i built about 5 years ago. At the time i used baking soda but want to replace it. The whole thing needs repairing, so when i get some free time i will be trying the snow out on that.

Andy - You did a great job on both, the tank and the base. The tank is obviously on pretty heavily frozen ground since it doesn't seem to be sinking into it hardly at all. If there was a chance of getting mud on the wheels, I'd expect the tank to be digging into the ground more. If anything, you might put some snow and bits of frozen dirt wedged into some of the track cleats. It might help tie the tank and the base together more.

Wow, Andy! Top notch stuff from start to finish. My only observation is that the tracks and wheels look kinda clean for the environment. Not saying they should be covered in mud or anything like that though... (and did you determine from your reference material that those indents/holes/dimples were supposed to be on the front lifting points on the turret - the vertical plane parallel to the turret? The pic w/the helmet shows it pretty clearly...)

Lovely!! A bit of crud on the tracks and running gear might be in order if you like but I'd surely not overdo it; as has been pointed out the diorama suggests frozen ground. May have to get me some of that ArmorFarm stuff it's surely enhanced your results.
Regards, Mark

Gary- LOL Thanks my friend... am always happy to have you tagging along since first day. Can you tell me what is MoM? LOL I have been looking around for a bigger display case and I can not find one... any idea?
Boss- I was tempted to add more snow but was concerned you'd ban me from this forum since you are about to get PLENTY today. LOL Just take out your KV kits outside and they will be buried in minutes. Nothing beats the real nature! Thanks for stopping by!
Bish- I'd be more than happy to post SBS with pictures how to do it if you want when you are ready. I am already planning to do another snow diorama for the StuG... of course with more snow this time!
Tony- Thanks for the tip!!!
Bob- Love your suggestion! Last night I was trying to figure out if I should have the Tiggy secured to the base using a nut and bolt... looks like I will go ahead and do this. Then I can add more snow against the track... thanks for bringing this up!!!
Dave- Thanks for the feedback... that's what I have been thinking... add little more mud to the wheels and tracks. I can't remember about that part already. LOL You did bring this up and I looked thru the reference books but now I can not remember anything. I am gonna look at it again...

Looking good Andy! I would also suggest adding just a touch of snow to some of the grass clumps/bases as well...right now the snow pattern looks like what is left has deliberately avoided all the foliage but you would still expect some remnants to be present especially in places that would get shadows like the bases of those grass/bush areas. Just a small thing to make it look less uniform in the snow pattern.

LOL You will love those stuff from AF. I noticed most are out of stock so I hope more will arrive because I want to order some items too. Bill- Another excellent suggestion! Didn't notice that myself... it helps to have extra eyes! LOL Thanks Tex! Its o nly my first attempt and I am still learning a great deal... Mr Sniper- Appreciate your compliment... thanks buddy!

Actually I was talking more about putting some of the snow and dirt on the track tops, like it was picked up from the ground.

Hi Andy, This has to be your best yet - you've knocked out some amazing work over the last 12 months but this has raised the bar! The helmet looks great as does the snow/groundwork. How much left to do? Ben

Wouter- Thanks brother!!! I decided to add more snow to the base. It never felt right and feedback from the forum really helped... can't wait to see you finish your Tiger next. LOL Guys- Really appreciate your feedback!!! It really help me have better look at the base. Like Bill's comment about how snow has magically avoided the plants and others regarding Tiggy sinking and more dirt by the tracks. THANK YOU... this is why I love this forum. Constructive feedback when I asked... First I had the Tiggy attached to the base securely with a bolt and wing nut so I can remove without a tool but hopefully I don't have to do this. Now let's talk about tracks & dirt... something for Bob and Dave! LOL [ CLICK ON THE PICTURE A VIDEO CLIP WILL APPEAR]Despite the fact the Chaffee is a light armor and ground was not that wet, tracks tore up the grass BIG time. Now for the Tiger I can't imagine how much damage it does to the ground. I used this product I brought at a train show for only $2 and mixed with MIG Dark Mud to make them darker... Behind Tiggy's rear... Paths created by another armor tracks that was there... I didn't add snow because it happened earlier and it has melt already. Make sense? Noticed more snow? Yep, I added more and I am very happy now. I added more snow for two reasons... Bill's excellent feedback and I realized crew were still wearing winter outfits so it still has to be cold enough. Hope you like the improvements. I only need to do two more things... add mud and snow to the tracks and come up with a plan to create a nice name tag. I don't want to spend $20 just for a name tag...
