Cheers Luigi. It will have to do, I'm sure I'm being my usual critical self, I should calm down a bit.

I'm watching intently. I have to agree with Dicky, these were the glory days of racing.

Hi G, good to have you along fella. Ok, family commitments complete so a little bench time before I settle down to the serious business of reducing the UKs wine lake. Wheel assembled and tire fitted, bit of painting along the way including the rear disc, brake and carrier, chain etc. Now it's up together, quick tidy up on the paint, a bit of a dark wash round the chain and welds and we'll call that element done. Oh, and sand the centre seam off the tyre... Thanks team!

Chaps, many thanks for your continued kind support. Boots, , to be honest mate, much more last night and it would have been ! Quick update. From the back to the front. Forks are underway using most of the detail up set. Metal fork tubes with threaded collars and teeny nuts, only one tiny kit part used on each. The round thing is actually a tool that Tamiya provide with the detail up set, the notch is for tightening the tiny nuts whereas you may be able to spot two small pins near the center which locate in the silver collar to screw it into the kit fork base, all very clever! Apologies for the pic quality, please read previous posts for explanation...

, thanks Boots! It's a neat setup for sure, just seems a shame it will only ever be used once! I have made more progress but will post tomorrow as I'm not really in a fit state to wield a camera.

Hello chaps. Here's a slightly better image of the forks now basic assembly is complete. Two metal collars and a screw also from the detail up set used on each. Bottom yolk needs a little tidy but I'm not fussed as it won't be seen. And one in position. May have to pop them out once more for a tidy up on the paint. Appreciate you following.

You got it Dicky, very well engineered, fits together beautifully.
Sorry for the quality of the pics, I think my camera is on its last legs, will have a fiddle with it tomorrow, see if I can improve things.

Hi chaps. Took a look at the camera, not much I can do so fuzzy pics for a while. Tackled the lovely exhaust system today, based the pipes in Tamiya Aluminium then played around with various colours, all Tamiya ranging from Titanium Silver through to Dark Copper. Probably not that accurate but I like the look so they will stay like this. Exhaust cans are Chrome Silver while the end caps are turned metal from the detail up set. Cans are loose for now to allow fine adjustment when fitting. Cheers chaps.

Thanks Dicky, they look better in the flesh so to speak.
The Detail up sets can be expensive but Tamiya have been very clever making sure they really add impact!

And here's the start of the donk. More than 30 parts make up this little V4 Two Stroke beauty. Pics show the start, looks a bit scabby as much of what you see is temporarily assembled using white glue and roughly primed to highlight any issues. Any gaps you see are I'm sure down to me rather than a problem with Tamiya's legendary fit. Even in this state, it already shows signs of being their best detailed yet, with the exception of their glorious 6 cylinder RC166 unit.
