Thanks gents! I spent today on the M60, needed a little relief from this one and the hacking, chiseling and chopping on the other one was good for me.

Thanks, gents. I'll be looking to get a well-worn look with this one, and even though I've never seen a pic of one of these still in IDF service with worn paint, I may do a little bit of chipping on this one, around the tool boxes and such.

iking, Tamiya TS46 sprayed from the can, over Krylon dark green as a primer, also rattle can. G, just for you, cuz it's always good to make the Men in Black happy: Just a little painting, nothing much.

Thanks, Leon. Getting close to making it dirty, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to scratch this one up a little bit too.

Shermies are good. I've got another Tamiya M51 in the stash, but want to do a very early (VVSS) M50 first, and I've got the hull and suspension pretty far along. I'm building it from Dragon's later M4A4 Firefly kit, as an M50 made from an IDF M4A4T. And then there's the M4A3E8(105) on the shelf.... ...and the stack of Tamiya M4s...... ...and the old Dragon Shermies I picked up at ScaleFest....

LOL, no Tasca yet?
BTW, I got the M-51 because all the reviews were more than good, but you put your hands on it. How is it?

Not me Lui - mine was Academy's old offering but yer right Tammy's does sound exceptional quality I was asking Russ Academy's one turned out pretty good, at least in your hands

Luigi, I think Tamiya's is so good, I will probably hoard them. It's a very straightforward build, accurate, and a great basis for conversions. And no, no Tasca. Yet. A pic or two of some light chipping, scuffs and general drybrushing: I've also started painting the soft stowage, one on the bustle rail and two off the tank.

Gary, it's good old 3M masking tape. I stick a length on a piece of ceramic tile, cut to whatever width I want and peel it up as needed. There's just enough sticky left on it to not need glue in the installation process. All the straps on the Magach turret rack I just did are made the same way. It's quick and simple, two qualities I like.

Got to say kit bashing "looks" a total mess while in the building stage, primer goes on and wham, total perfection, love it

Thanks, guys. Much appreciated. Robbo, you're exactly right, during the construction process it looks like a hobby shop blew up and a Martian tried to put things back together.
