Thanks, Andy. It'll get a little more beat up soon, I like the look even though IDF paint is very tough. Artistic license and all, you know.

Just call me "Chip"..... I plan on adding "layers" to the bigger scratcvhes and chips, but no more new chips. Pigments next, but my modeling budget is "0" until I find a new job, so it's on-hand materials only. I may hang tight on this one until I'm re-stocked with pastels.

Leon, Dicky, thanks. Looks like I'll probably end up working on cars again, not exactly what I had planned to be doing in my late 50s but what the heck. Okay, some more work on the chipping and general wear, just trying to tone it down a bit and blend it in. The differences may not even show up on the pics, but I've used some light tan, dark green and dark gray to define and add depth to the scratches that I did the other day.

Thanks, guys. My first couple of attempts at doing scratches, scrapes and scuffs were pretty mediocre, so I'm being very careful here. I like it, though. I pulled an old MMiR out from a few years ago, with a dio by Douglas Lee on the cover, centerpiece is an M50, and I think compare to Mr. Lee I've been very conservative as far as paint damage goes. Not to criticize Mr Lee's work, but I think it's pretty easy to over-do paint damage, but that's only my opinion.

Thanks, 'smudge. I did some detail painting on the tracks this morning, no pics yet (not really pic-worthy anyway) and then started putting the 'cruiser back together. Getting the family truckster operational is going to be a priority for the next few days, plus I don't want to get greasy fingerprints all over my model.....

Okay, 'cruiser is back together and being flogged by the wifey today, so I got some bench time this morning. (Subdued "yay") I dug into my box of pigments, both powdered and stick, and mixed up what I think is an appropriate color, and applied it with a makeup brush donated by wife, no solvent or water. I mixed up a similar color using some old Pollyscale acrylic, thinned it to a milky consistency with water, and applied that to the tracks. After drying, the tracks were scrubbed with alcohol, then water and then dry brushed in appropriate areas with Citadel dark and light silver. They were then dusted with the same pigment mix I used on the tank itself. A light shot of clear flat will follow soon, after I think about how much, if any, more pigments I want to add to the tank itself or the tracks. Da pics: What'd I miss? Oh yeah, the contact surfaces of the roadwheels will get a fresh coat of the Floquil grimy black they're originally painted in. Yee ha!

Leon, Tammy's M51 is a perfect IDF door-opener, but beware: once you jump in to the Sand-Gray crowd, you may never go back...... Thanks, Andy. I painted the outer return rollers this morning, now al I need is the boss-man in the commander's hatch and a little more pigment. I picked up some clear gloss the other day and used it to "wet" the top of the oil cans on the rear tray, the stains on a couple of the road wheels and around a few of the filler caps, and I like it enough to do it on a couple of other builds.

Always up for an IDF GB Although TBH Lui - the site is such, that there's always plenty goin' on in all the cats eh? It's like every category is a permanent GB I thought this site WAS a continuous IDF GB........ or maybe that's just me. Return rollers are on and washed, a little dust, a corporate exec, and the -50 cal (being painted now) and it's back to the Magach, or Char- B1-bis, can't decide which, or maybe the really early M50 that I have a hull started for or the T55 I started a couple of years ago, or the M5 Stuart in the same boat....oh, gawd! And then there's about six Shermans that are 70-80% completed. I need one of the little pink pills. Now. And I have everything except a few pics to do a Magach 5.....
