Nice work! I know what you mean about being too tired to model but not too tired to have a drink and to watch TV:) Happens to us all, buddy!

Hey Andy, Moving nicely along - I know absolutely nothing about this vehicle so it's been a nice opportunity to learn about it - beautiful detailing work too. Keep the updates coming! Ben

Guys- I am back!!! No internet, no TV, and no phone for more than a day and half. WOW! It was an adventure for the whole family especially my boys as it was fun watching them coping with it. Well, I accidentally cut the buried telephone line while working on the yard. Yes, somebody has to keep the wife happy by keeping the yard clean and tidy especially its spring now. I see I have five pages to catch up... fun fun fun! Wouter- You have to do something about your avatar! I carve for Duvel every time I see it and I am not kidding... LOL Still have second bottle sitting on my workbench. Thanks mate! Nate- Hey buddy! You got that right. Except for last night.. without TV it gave me extra bench time! LOL Ben- Me either! I know nothing about DUKW too! That's why I love this hobby... it gives us perfect opportunities to learn about what we are building. An update coming up soon! Thanks lad! Oops. I shouldn't have said that? LOL Dicky- Yikes, that duck really scares me!!! Oh yes I hate AM and I don't use those stuff. Are you kidding me? Yes, Tobi beat you to it... planning to order that set. LOL Originally I was planning to make my own but realizing it would take me hours or even days and I think my work will not be as good as theirs. $25 or ten or fifteen hours coming up with crappy look bumpers? No brainer there... hardest part is trying to stay alive when the wife reviews our next credit card statement. Again thanks for sharing!!! Bones- Thanks! One day I have to try one of those surgical gauzes or cheesecloths... Leon- How did you almost miss this? Oh I forgot you were busy wishing everybody birthdays! I don't blame ya! Thanks for looking! Bill- Process or none I think I am going to have nightmares about that... that... that... Roboduck! Gary- Maybe I should have the courage to borrow your kiltutu so I can dance around that man killing machine? T- Thanks to my careless cutting the telephone line... had a great process on the duck last night so I think coffee flavored Roboduck will stay away for now. Bones again- Update coming up soon... appreciate you tagging along!

Mac- Thanks mate! Quack quack! Paul- Thanks! I agree about Eduard sets... so far this is the best so far in my opinion. Set for StuG I used was OK. Guys- I should have posted an update sooner but having too much fun with my son. I was surprised he wanted to start his kit he bought at recent model show. Because he is a big fan of James Bond 007 movies, he had to get this kit even my wife paid for it! Back to the Duck... more PE added to the front such as wing nuts and engine vent. 14 hooks added to three sides... far better than molded shapes of 'Z'. Since I am using MIG resin wheels set, I am going to use kit wheels as bumpers for both sides... jeez, Italeri pieces were so thick! Tire bumpers are usually old worn out tires... plenty of sanding! Maybe need more... Kudos to Italeri... fitting was PERFECT and SOLID... wish it was the same for all kits!!! Dry fitting... still perfect! More to come... thanks for looking!

Well Andy I can see from your latest post that you are way ahead of me when it comes to details. Those wing nuts are super and the old bumper tires came ot near perfect, Ill have to try harder. Are you going to show the air lines for the adjustable tire pressuer I didn't do that because I could see that it would be very delicate and it was border line with my talents.

Leon- Thanks... glad you liked the idea of tires! Saw a photo when I googled but now I can't find it. LOL Gonna look for it again... Luigi- Thanks buddy! I love sweets too so send me some... Joe- I know... its crazy... one day my thread falls to third page or even fourth page especially on weekends now. Plenty of great activities here to follow... glad you stopped by! Thanks! Now can I borrow your bomb sight for this? LOL Garage- Me PE guru? I wish!!! I don't even know to do soldering stuff yet... LOL I am just good at goofing around you can see. Always good hearing from you my twin brother! Mence- Thanks mate! Pete- LOL What a great way of saying about the quacking stuff. Thanks! I think I am falling into love with those DUKWs... think they were not appreciated enough that they helped win the war. Bones- Glad you liked the wing nuts and old tires. Spent nearly two hours working on two old tires but it was worth it. Hope they will look good at the end. I am still not too sure about the air lines... they scares me like you said very fragile... with my fat clumsy fingers they will be broken in a heart beat.

Guys- Sorry no update... am stuck in a hotel room tonight... just another business trip but it is only for a night this time. But I wanted to tell you that I nearly soiled my pants last night. As soon as I posted my update at my work bench in the basement, lighting stuck a tree only twenty yards from our house during the storm. It sure felt like if somebody tossed a flash bang grenade in the room!!! Very bright flash... loud bang... BOOM! Power went off for few seconds. Fire alarms went off. Dogs running for cover! I ran up to second floor as fast as I could to check on my family... they all were awake and scared. It was raining so hard so we couldn't see anything outside the windows but all trees looked intact. We couldn't determine where it struck. We could smell some kind of electric burn... but no fire... stayed up til 3am as I couldn't sleep at all. Wood splinters managed to chip the bricks like this... it was how powerful it was. My workbench is ten feet below that spot by the A/C unit in the basement... am so grateful my family and stash are OK.

Happy to hear you all are well, Andy I had almost the same experience, a lightning struck the house on the side of my parent's home when I lived with them, so I know what you all felt.

Lightning is a fierce source of energy that gives no mercy, I had a client back in my working days who had worked in the utility business and was up on a pole working and got struck and it left him with joint pain like arthritis the rest of his life, of course he was happy just to be alive. They say that the chances of getting hit by lighting are about the same as winning the lottery but Im not to sure about that. We don't have storm here like the Midwest but still if we were working in the woods and a thunder storm came by we came home. When walking in the woods you don't have to go to far to see a tree like the one in your yard. In some travels through Indiana and Ohio the lighting rods on the houses and barns spoke of some serious storms in that part of the country.

andy good news for sure that it was just the tree. know a guy that was hit by a bolt. he still suffers some after affects even though it was many years ago.
