I give part of the credit to experience and part to Bronco for a good PE set.

This is a progress pic on the gun, cradle & site assembly. You will notice a hand wheel that is noted, I can not remember the number of times I have broken that wheel off and had to replace it and hoping the last time was the last time.

This pic is a progress shot on the pintle loop assembly which has three VERY small PE levers that work in paddle fashion and are glue to a little whisker of Styrene in the range of .010 or smaller. The amazing thing is I got them on then cut the sprue part off the ends as shown.
This pic shows them with the levers on.

More added detail to the wheels and tires.
I keep forgetting to point out that there are a number of places that the instructions are a little vague or indexing marks shown on the instruction are not on the parts, and then there is the PE factor all which definitely remove this kit from the beginners class of builds. If a new modeler should happen to pick this kit up they may never try another one.
An example here on the tires, the instructions have you place a brake rod between the two wheels once they are on the axle. I never have any luck painting tires or tracks once they are assembled on the vehicle so I ALWAYS keep them off until painted. On this kit you have to carefully line up the holes of the brake actuators with holes already on the hub the whole assembly being directional so the go on the axle in one direction. I used a No.70 drill bit the size of the kit rod to line them up and not glue them to the rod which has to go on at the same time the wheels are set on the axle ends.

The top picture shows a sliding door that is for controlling the opening and closing in the gun shield in various positions for the gun site. The VERY small latch that is to control those positions is indicated as to where it will be attached. The below pic shows the gun shield along with other parts like the small hand wheel that loves to fall off when my fingers are anywhere near it and the door mentioned above.

It is and it doesn't have to be real intricate detail jut enough to bring it to life so it does not look like its machine made.

You're making some fine work out of this intricate and highly-detailed kit Bones. I would echo the thought that it's not a beginner's kit (same deal with my Marder IID project), not because it's a bad kit but precisely because it's so highly detailed and many of the details are done only in PE. Looking forward to more on this one, got to love the look of those wheels!

Thanks for looking and the thoughts, I could not have built this kit until I had been building three years or so.

Indeed Bones - CS is exactly right, more than any other genre, artillery really does look great once all this details picked out...this is gonna look very special my friend Great work! DickyF
You are right, detailed artillery has the closest chance to be depicted completely as it is more so than any vehicle at this scale. Thanks for the comments.

Infections are going to be our doom, the keep getting worse and harder to cure, listen to the Doc and get well. Looking around I happened to spot your Versuchsflakwagen, nice work. Thanks for taking the time to comment and the nice words.

A while back in this thread we were experimenting with upholstering seats with Kleenex tissue and Elmer s glue. These pics are the result of using Kleenex out of the box instead of splitting sheets into half sheets which was my first try. Kleenex sheets are made up of two thin sheets and separate rather easily. First I had to find a spare seat. This seat is one of the more difficult type with a narrow frame where as single seats where the tissue can drap over the seat are easier in my estimate. Here is the seat with some putty added to give the seat some relief like it had been used to set in, unfortunately to keep the depressions at a reasonable scale they do not jump out at you.Pic shows what it looks like with the tissue on it before paint. The next two are with the tissue painted and the frame and rail OOB. They look pretty good though it does not show in the picture as well as one would like. Good enough I am convinced to use this from now on versus slick looking styrene seats.
