After some figure painting it was finally time to take care of some cockpit parts. First comes the panel:

Panel's looking good. Baking tree roots in the oven, sounds like a modeler's kitchen for sure!

One question: "Operation Bodenplatte" [ground plate]is in Progress now. Seats come seperately, and I want to improve the seatbelts for those. Is a set of Eduard belts good enough or do they look different from, lets say, fighter seat belts?

Meanwhile on the sketchboard... This logo combines the emblem of the Ist Staffel/KG zbV 1 [Ju 52 unit] and the Saxon crest [home]. Heres the original Saxon crest: www.google.de/imgres?q=sachsen+wappen&sa=X&biw=1347&bih=1077&tbm=isch&tbnid=YQMrGZoo3xEOIM:&imgrefurl=http://www.freistaat.sachsen.de/wappen_signet.htm&docid=5gVkCtRNDNRblM&imgurl=http://www.freistaat.sachsen.de/img/freistaat/413_wappen_rdax_413x169.jpg&w=413&h=169&ei=ilbbUZf2BonJsgaUooGADQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=200&vpy=272&dur=2583&hovh=135&hovw=330&tx=172.631591796875&ty=85.89474487304687&page=1&tbnh=105&tbnw=248&start=0&ndsp=50&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0,i:95 Okay like that or not? Furthermore, a layout sketch of the Diorama. The base itself is supposed to be about 80 x 30 cm, gloss black, the lettering, Emblem etc comes in gold. Thats because I want a "classic" look so to say, something different, but not too ostensible. Additionally, the horizontal bars of the Saxon crest are black and gold indeed! The font of "Czech out" is just for trying, this isnt supposed to be exactly THIS one... Opinions and critics welcome...

Nice progress on the details Lucas! The layout and base plan look sound to me, especially considering the crest colors and the history behind this one.

Hello Lucas, The interior detail is looking quite good. I especially like the K98's. Those look sharp! The crates are a nice touch as well. Keep up the solid work.

Is this release of the Revell 1/48 Ju 52 really moulded in their ghastly green plastic? Aaarrrggghh...
Glad you good some paint on it. Not sure about the IP colour, but well, this is your baby and it looks great so far (to no surprise, Lucas!).

I will, Thug Thomas, thanks as well. Yep, this is the green mold, but for 15 € only I couldnt resist IP come in different variants, and I found at least 5 different colors, from grey [probably RLM 02] to beige and simply black ones. The interior color depends also, some say it is/was "Schwarzgrau", some say black green: cs.finescale.com/fsm/modeling_subjects/f/2/t/151189.aspxBut I found some sources showing a really light color, and Revell says "Grau 57". Did I mention that the side walls etc will get a dark washing?! This is just the prime coat and ist getting a bit darker, so this should be okay. EDIT: heres a direct comparison - right side the original greyish color for priming [Sky Grey], left side darkened with Games Workshop "Ogryn Flesh", a very dark brown, for the deeper areas. Should be okay... Cheerio!

In Germany we have a saying: "Not macht erfinderisch!" - means something like "An emergency makes inventive". I had the problem that the boxes had some bubbles - at least I know now why they were quite cheap... . What to do?! Hide them with some newspapers and a field cap, of course The MP40 got a paper strap this time. And the K98 [see above] got lead straps. Whys that? Because I want a comparison between those methods and am experimenting a bit at this stage. The seats of the Junkers plane are supposed to have some customized belts. My feeling says: The paper straps look better. And are even easier to handle... What do you think?! Size comparison and the different painting stages of the boxes... Cheerio!

On the straps question, go with whatever works best. Once painted you can't tell the difference between them IMHO. Nice solution on the crates!

Thanks for the Feedback, guys... Yesterday, I went to a nearby building centre. Always a good adress is the corner where they have offcuts of wood. So I could grab a spruce board of ca. 80x40 for almost free, let it cut to 70x35 and thats it. A carpenter here will add some hollows [is that the right word?!], and then I have my very individual base...

Phew... what a weekend. Besides many beautiful lakes [and my girlfriend ] Leipzig city has far more sights to offer. GamesWorkshop shops for example, and model train shops. But first of all, I looked most forward to the carpenters work whom I gave the base board to work it over - and what can be else said than: "WOW!" - a very personal and individual cut base for the Junkers plane. en detail... Furthermore, some base material - white glue, GamesWorkshop washing, and artifical grass with extra long culms. This is fluffing a bit, and the seperate culms were collected btw, cause those mats are a bit expensive, and I need some to work the borders between longer and shorter culm areas, so to say. I hope these are the correct words and you understand what I mean And... Recently I watched a documentation about German transportation planes in WW2, and found some very interesting pictures there, made some screenshots. Source: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uouspb9JCB8
