Tony
From experience with a Cat 60 I would have to say that JD's run a little smoother but probably lack the raw horse power when you match cubic inches and Deere has nothing that will out push the D9R for sure.

Hiya bones, nice build so far fella! I sure want to build this kit someday....just too cool!!! It is a cool kit with many options by LZ Models for different conversions. The problem I have is that just 10 short years ago the only thing around were tired old Tamiya and Academy kits with AF Club and Trumpy coming on with better kits. And I must say the Tamiya M26 is a very good kit but anyway with all the great new kits almost every week it is difficult to keep up with what to build next. Bones

Tony
MV lenses are from the model train builders, they give the appearance of clear a lens which is not exactly authentic but I like the looks, they cost about $1 for two depending on the size. I get mine from R&J Products because they are nice folks to deal with but I think most model railroad suppliers handle them.

They come in many sizes so you will have to keep a number of them around unless you live near a shop that is big on model trains and carries them. The come in clear, red, blue and yellow.

Had almost forgotten about this one right along with you Bones. Nice to see it resurface! I dont know, I guess due to age related reason I am beginning to have problems keeping things straight and orderly, how I forgot all the pictures for this build just plain escapes me. The problem with late posts is getting them in some reasonable order. I am going to group them up the best I can.

The radiator has two options the Cyrillic lettering on it is apparently wrong or misspelled and there is an after market resin replacement that correct the error. For me the spelling is close enough as no one I know other than maybe Todd reads it so rather than deal with some resin for no great gain I went with the kit part. I painted the radiator before adding the screen because I wanted to paint the screen most likely as it was done in the factory. I add a bolts at the corners.

Some PE washers that are a little hard to see when completed. Road wheels completed.

All good things goin' on here and all but I got those washers beat. My Trumpy Grad kit has heater control knobs in PE to be used on the dashboard. Maybe 1/4 size of the gigantic washers there. Jeff

Engine under construction
What the engine should look like if one has the finger skills to make it happen.

Looks like you're managing the 'fat finger' scenarios just fine on this one Bones.

Looks like you're managing the 'fat finger' scenarios just fine on this one Bones. Our Tony has one of these and when he gets through with his race car I suspect he will show us how this engine should really look but I'm happy with what I did.

Resin engine looks fine. With some tweaking and adding it should be almost perfect.
