Thanks to you all guys, it's your kind words which keep me rolling on this one.
I'm going to use this build as a bit of a warm up for my next planned 1/24 build which I'm hoping should turn out quit well.
Update soon...

prof i am late to the party, no disrespect was intended. got to say that with all the trials you have had with this build so far the results look fantastic. the engine looks crisp and clean. very neat work. the chassis is very nicely done. the body looks very smooth. all in all very nice work.

Me too Prof always does this little tease thing............gives a little away but just not quite enough , reckon we`ll see a tyre or a close up of a corner of a wing or somink just to add to the tension

All in good time chaps, must admit I really am sorely tempted to kick another build off as well but I should really see this one home or at least most of the way before I do despite an overpowering urge to hoof the lot in the bin. Next build is down to a choice of two, both modern, one very recent. I have probably already decided which i want to do but as always I spend way too long deciding on paint / interior colours and that is the sticking point at the moment. Little bit of AM is on its way as well which should both enhance and alter the look very subtly, just need to sort colours! I will spend a little time on the official website this evening and try to bottom it out. Right, back to the current project and we have progress. Seats assembled and painted, you can paint them black for stock or a blue sort of colour for the raced version, to add visual interest I went for blue. The wheels are interesting, each comes in three parts and I have to say aren't too bad, the spokes are finely done and the plating isn't as heavy as the other sprues, tyres are a ridiculously tight fit and don't sit on the rims awfully well but hey, kind of expected that. I have an AM set which I was going to put on this which includes wheels and PE, not sure i want to now as it doesn't seem worth it, I will ponder that for a while longer. Anyway, pics...

Hey guys.
DP, if you lived a bit closer you could have the kit at least with my blessing!
Moose, hi buddy, this is the Revell kit which is a repop of the old Protar kit. I haven't been that complimentary about it but that's mainly because I build mostly Aoshima and Tamiya car kits which are a touch better than this. That said, a quick look round the web will prove that this kit can be transformed into a stunner.
I will plod on with it but I'm not enjoying it, I will start something else to build alongside it in the hope I can finish them both!

Slapped some colour on the bodywork today, that was after I had glued, filled and sanded the lower half of the nose which was a real pain. Needs a quick run over with some wet and dry then I will try to get some sort of gloss coat on it.

Who'd have ever thunk you'd see red on a Ferrari ? Look great Mence. I don't do many auto builds so let me ask you a question. What grit will you be wet sanding with?

Hi buddy.
In terms of wet and dry, it really depends on how well the paint went on really.
In this instance where it's gone on pretty well, I would probably use 2000 grit used wet or maybe 1500 if the surface is a little rougher.

Thank you chaps As mentioned in an earlier post, the inlet trumpets are pretty much unusable from the sprue so I ordered up some AM ones which arrived the other day. Many thanks to BNA Modelworld in Australia. Once installed, the remainder of the engine was assembled and painted then glued in place......then removed again as you can't get the headers on without removing some of the previously glued bits. Anyway, here's a pic of it installed along with the driveshaft. Shoddy paintwork reflects my general disinterest in this project. Thanks.

A/M funnels, nice. And despite what you say, I think it looks good. Hang in there Man, I glued the motor in the Nova TWO times before I got it right.
