Hi Mence,
The polishing work on the body has definitely been worth the effort and the engine and interior looks very nice.
I'm looking forward to seeing this come together.
Have you made any progress on your pacific Mustang?
Best Regards
Keith

Hi Keith, thank you for the kind words of support, it's not up to your standards but for something I really have lost interested in, I'm ok with it.
The Mustang rumbles on in the background, I've been putting together the rocket launchers and drop tanks etc. as I plan to do the F-6D.
Not really much of interest hence lack of posting, I will try to do an update soon for anyone interested.

Cheers Boo.
This has quickly turned into a 'why am I doing this' build and I really look forward to finishing this for all the wrong reasons.
In the kits defence, I can see how this could be a real belter if you get the upgrade sets for it, the shape is pretty much spot on and most of the parts fit albeit with some work at times.
This may sound insane after the amount of complaining I have burdened you all with but I plan to have another go at one of these. It has been a fairly steep learning curve in certain areas but that is very much indicative of some of Revells older offerings, clunky mouldings, questionable fit and iffy detail but now I've gone through most of the pain, I reckon I could make one of these look quite good in the future.
Anyway, as you know mate new plans afoot so I need to press on, final post later today...

That's the spirit Prof, don't let this build beat you.Like you said, consider this a learning curve for your next build.

Hi guys.
Thanks Leon. They don't beat me often, it's just. The end result I don't like!
Cheers Keith, have to say its beginning to look better now its going together. I will update the Mustang as soon as I can, it's a bit of a slow burner but I promise progress.

Mence, so what you're saying is this build is only going to look kinda good? If that's the case, then I can hardly wait for the next one Bro.

Yes mate, that's all I'm afraid So, I went and did it differently to the instructions and fitted the lower half of the nose so I could easily deal with the join line and also get the paint on without too much masking. This inevitably causes issues when you try to fit the bodywork but fortunately the bodywork flexes just enough to allow you to gently slip it over the chassis. The back end fits fine but the front sits a touch too high, this I think is due to the engine bay sidewalls sitting a little too high. I decided against any retro chopping of the kit and will settle for it as its sits. Once the body had been tacked in place with a couple of carefully positioned blobs of Cyano, it's just a matter of attaching the remaining parts without damaging the paintwork. Most of it fits ok but you do need to carefully open up a few locating holes which have partially closed up with paint. Glazing is held in with a small amount of canopy glue mixed with a little Tamiya Gloss Red so any excess I might have missed doesn't show up too much, bonnet and doors are workable and the door windows slide....just. I was going to splash some racing numbers on it but decided to go with just the prancing horse emblem on the front. And there we have it, all that remains to say is there are a couple more images in the gallery and thank you for your great support through what turned out to be a tricky project.

No mate, it will probably be 1/25 again, just a slightly bigger subject. I do have a bike I want to do so I'm torn between the two.
