Hi Dicky!! Glad to see you back and running again!! I figured this one might make it to the list over there...sounds like a super combo with the MK!!! I seen the posts on the early release and it was entitled "Doobie D9R"...I think they thought it was a better marketing hook to add the US version...it worked because I am seeing a 50/50 split on the builds! Thanks for the kind words! I can only add to the growing pile of build references on this big girl. If and when I find something I will post away... Got one ! - In the instructions: Step 5; Cylinder Construction - Shows the construction of the upper and lower hydraulic cylinders. There is a drawing at the top where it show the installation of molded bolt heads off of the A Sprue tree. This is spot on except they seem to not mention the installation of the heads onto the lower cylinders. They should be installed there as well The smaller heads are for the top and bottom cylinders...the large ones are for the from blade hydraulics.

OK, time for a little update. Slow day at the bench, busy day in the yard...it has to be done sometimes!
Mr.T
Everybody has to keep a cleared path through the yard out to the Hobby-shop or Post Office or else the stash shelves will dry up.
I am curious along with DickyF as to what the three options are on the kit that you are doing such great work on???

Bones, There are two different IDF versions and the one USMC. When I get back to the house tonight, I can let you know the exact designation if you like?

Mr. T
My interest was too see what different country's might be using them, I have seen the IDF versions and some US models and never gave it a lot of thought until seeing the Egyptians deploying them when I realized that there may be any number of countries operating them. I remember that some time back on of those protesters laid down in front of one and got run over in Gaza which raised a lot of verbal protests at the time.

Thank you very much Jeremy!!! Thanks a bunch Steve!! Bones...all good brotha! I get where you were coming from. I can only figure that CAT will sell to whomever is paying...with the exceptions of a few countries on the Warning list. N.Korea, Iran...etc. The company I work for insures Cat and we have a strict policy of not doing business in these areas, I can only assume that CAT is in line with our thinking. Back on track.... OK, another update. For not actually being a huge update there are a few pics just to show what is going on. I alluded earlier to cleaning the office walls in preparation to installation. I was not to happy with the interior pin marks on the walls, but I also realize the EPM's need to go somewhere...might as well been inside. Here are the cleaned up parts as I work the walls. In keeping the SBS with the instructions these are the parts for step 11. Moving onto step 12... While dry fitting everything I came across this little one. You can see the back of the communications equipment through the window here. When complete this can be seen but if painted the same as the rest of the equipment, a dark color, it will be seen but look like it is just what it is suppose to be. You could take the time to cut a small piece of card stock and cover the back. I am actually going to paint up the interior soon as I work my way through the build...this means I need to do it now as I cannot attach certain pieces until I attache the cabin walls... Heading to the booth some night this week! I have to let you know...half of the EPM's are not even seen since they are obscured by the equipment there will be some that need attention. I used a combination of two methods...simple sanding and filling and sanding...both the same in my eyes...both tedious but need to get done. There you have steps 11, 12 and 13. I have not glued the interior window parts as well as a couple of parts that need to stay off so the window can be installed after painting. And finally...this was in the mailbox today!!! Straight from Dessert Eagle Publishing, the DOOBI D9 Variants: D9 Bulldozers in IDF Service book!!! I have begun reading through it, not only to gain more knowledge of what I am working on but I will have a full review of this book real soon as well. As always, thanks for tuning in!!!
