Bill what did you do to this build? It looks so different from your normal finish and I must say you've raised your bar by leaps and bounds buddy.\o/

Bill, this build was a blast for me mate! You really did this kittycat justice! I really like everything, from the build through the paintwork to the finishing weathering stages...it's a beaut!
Cheers

Bill what did you do to this build? It looks so different from your normal finish and I must say you've raised your bar by leaps and bounds buddy.\o/ Way to Go Tex Tony lee Thanks Tony! I think what is different on this one is that I took a more layered approach to the finish and introduced some added steps to the process at various different stages. That also added more time to the build, which gave me more time to think about it when I wasn't working on it, so the overall net effect is a more nuanced/more thought out finish...I guess! That and of course the scheme really sets this one apart...it's one I've kind of attempted before on the Beute KV-1 (it was a sort of dress-rehearsal for this one a while back) and I spent a lot more time with the airbrush portions than previously as well as a result. Glad you like her! T, it's the last Tiger I had in the stash and also one of the kits I've had the longest...since 2005 if you can believe it! Finally got its number punched though. Thanks as always! Wouts, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride with me! I thoroughly enjoyed it as well and the 3 months spent on it flew by in the process. Dan and Pete, thanks for the kind words as well gents! Your work lately has helped give me new ideas and inspiration as well so I'm very glad to hear this one rates highly in your books.

Hi there Bill,
A few weeks of working almost 24/7 to get everything done for X-mas makes you miss a lot of beautiful work on the net. Congratulations on this Tiger, just the way I like them: sober, toned down, yet full of depth and detail. Thanks for sharing.
greetings, Richard.

Here's a grayscale pic (closest thing to B/W I can produce) just for you. Richard, sounds like you've been a busy guy! Glad you were able to catch a break and stop by. Thanks for the comments!

Mighty fine finish on the Tiggy! I think you tipped the scales on this one buddy! Looks like the wife will be in a cast for three more weeks. The break is healing good. So far no styrene cookies, but I have been wondering about using the cookie dough for an edible diorama?

But then the temptation would be to actually 'eat' your groundwork...that could cause some rather unique complications!

Sensational thread, and outstanding model Bill. Kind of stuff you see in books and the finest magazines. This is one of the best late Tigers I've seen - I think perfectly painted and weathered. I believe this is exactly what one would have looked like milling around Normandy in 1944 - great work and something we should all aspire to!
