Rob, should be! Have fun on your trip and enjoy! Thanks Dupes! The front yard tree finally let go its leaves, so today was all about yard work but tomorrow should provide plenty of time to work on this one for the Sunday.

Looking great Bill! What plans do you have for her? A nice tidy, lightly weathered Tiger or something a bit beaten and bruised? I know you like your relatively clean and neat builds. Great AB work btw - it might look easy but we all know it's darn tricky to lay down an effective 'squiggly' pattern and keep it even and realistic. I've said it before but I love that shade of DY you use! Keep these updates coming - I've got a lot of catching up to do! Take care, Ben

Thanks Ben! This one's almost done, just the pigment weathering to go for the lower hull and tracks, so that's all that's still planned for this little Tiggy. Since it's a June '44 production vehicle in Normandy, it didn't have a whole lot of time to get battered, so the wear and tear will be minimal as a reflection of that.

Circumstances have conspired against bench time today, so no progress to report unfortunately for this weekend on the Tiger. Combination of sore muscles from leaf clearing yesterday and other distractions but nothing serious. Work will resume on schedule once again later this week!

Sea Hawks are already locked into the play offs so there's no need to play hard and get players hurt.
Same with all sports with a play off system, you only play hard when you need to.
Play Offs sell tickets. It's all about the MONEY and not who is the best.

Made a lot of progress in the weathering process with the Tiger. This round of effort focused on the pigment weathering. First up were the tracks. I applied a wet mixture of Mig Productions Dry Mud pigment combined with tap water (adding a drop of dishwashing soap to break the surface tension) and applied with a brush. This is allowed to air dry and looks a bit of a mess, but the next step corrects that. Using a round stiff-bristled brush, I adjusted the dried pigments working one link at a time. This treatment is applied to both sides of the track run to get the overall effect. Then it was the hull and suspension's turn. Same approach but the wet mix here is Dark Mud pigments and has a couple extra steps involved. Excess pigment is removed with a larger brush vs. the one used on the tracks. More pigment is removed/adjusted using Q-tips, dry for the most part but using wet ones were the pigment was more stubborn. Until finally the end result is achieved, producing a nice layered result working off the earlier washes, scuffing/chipping, etc. Then it was time to mount the tracks. The sprockets and idler were added and the tracks installed to both sides. And that's where the Tiger sits for now, just a few small details to work on as the last elements to complete it.

Yessir Tony Lee, within spitting distance! Thanks T, high praise indeed, much appreciated! I need to get this one done so I can have my Christmas break devoted to a little side project before I have to deliver on CB's promise for 2014. Gary, I'll take that over being a sand-blaster modeler, I tried that once and it had an interesting effect on the styrene.

Mighty fine work Bill! Good to know about the soap in the tap water. In the past I applied the MIG-pigments mixed with their "Thinner for washing".
If there are areas where the pigments are too much you can make them partly invisible again with some flat coating, but I guess you now that already, so it's more of an info for the others...
Cheers, Tobi
