Cheers guys, it's had the smudgewerks chipping treatment now so pictures later today. Bill's right it's one of the few early tanks that went through the whole war in some capacity or another. The Germans also used them a lot in anti-partisan roles and this is what I plan to depict with my model

Nice one, good built and painting. I have one on my shelf too it looks like a nice kit indeed. Hey Ben, hard to tell on B&W photo but this one seems yellow to me. Eddy

Hey Pete that's a nice looking base coat. Sets the stage for the weathering. Figs look great.

Pete, this one had slipped under my attention. Great job, love the puppy and all the scene.
Eddy, I agree, it defo looks dunkelgelb to me, the uniforms are way darker than the tank.

Nice one, good built and painting. I have one on my shelf too it looks like a nice kit indeed. Hey Ben, hard to tell on B&W photo but this one seems yellow to me. Eddy It does Eddy! It's one helluva lot lighter in tone than their uniforms which obviously would have been pretty dark so we might have a winner right there! I keep promising myself a Trumpy kit and the more I look at this one the more I want it! It suits my style perfectly i.e. early war onwards, lots of rivets and flat sides for excellent weathering opportunities and I do have an unopened box of Hetzer Friuls upstairs - I'm assuming they'll fit ok. I also has 38(t) Magic Tracks which I was going to use on the early Marder III from Tamiya in my stash Keep the updates coming Pete! Ben

Well done Pete the chipping looks awesome buddy its such a shame we cant tell accurately what colour B&W piccys are it would make WW2 ref alot easier Panzer Grey with dust can sometimes show up to be quite light but i do think it would be Dunkelgelb in this case

Excellent chipping job! Did I ever tell you how much I love battle weary tanks? I googled for dark yellow Pz 38t as soon as you posted the pics of painted tank... found plenty of results which surprised me and I have learned something. Saw a picture of one with dark yellow painted as a camo on panzer grey. Did you see that one too?

Cheers guys glad you like it, chipping for me is a double edged sword, love doing it but I sometimes get carried away with it and the model ends up looking like it's been in a scrap yard for 30 years!
Andy, I did see one with yellow over panzer grey, almost tempted me that did.

Nice progress with the chipping Pete! An anti-partisan vehicle sounds like the perfect ticket for this one.

Now that little tank has seen better days for sure! A heavy dusting will tone the chips down I think.
Cheers, Tobi

Thanks fellas. My next update and the decals are on, nothing very exciting I know but I can now get on with the washes and oil weathering.

That is a nice job, your model is coming to live now. May I give a suggestion on the jack, why not paint it grey, not the dark panzer grey, but a lighter shade and give it when dry a wash with black and brown oils, it will give more depth and show the details more. The wire cutter had brown isolating handles Eddy

Hi Pete, Well, I promised myself a non-Dragon, fairly simple kit and after reding through this blog I've just ordered this very kit! Bleedin' cheap too - it was £22.99 reduced to £19.99 + postage. I'm looking forward to this one, especially as I've got a full PE set for the 38(t) (Grouser box and correct clamps etc). Cheers matey, Ben
