Trumpeter Panzer 38t Ausf E/F 17/1/14 100% BUILD FINISHED!

As I'm close to finishing the Abrams and the Valentine has friking sucked the life out of me it's time for something small and German! The Trumpeter kit fits the bill very nicely and looks a simple trouble free build. Colour wise you get two choices, panzer grey or three colour schemes. I'm thinking three colour just for a change. So panzers march!

Cheers guys, the model is almost building it's self! very easy to assemble and it has some really nice detail. The return rollers even have "continental" printed on em! Here it is so far and I'm nearly done! The only thing I don't like are the tracks which have loads of clean up to do on each link. Friulmodel metal tracks will come to the rescue for this as I'm fed up with fighting kit individual tracks

Cheers guys well work has progressed at a stellar pace on this one that's for sure. I'm now waiting for the tracks but basically the main construction is complete. I have added some wiring to the horn, antenna mount and rear lights. The horn is a cut down tamiya item. I have also added some handles to the tools on the left fender. Oddly the tools on the other side have them?

The only tricky part was the cupola assembly being made up of nine parts. Getting them all lined up took some test fitting. Strangely pleased with this so far, it must be the simplest model I've built all year but one of the most satisfying.













Right I had best pull my finger out and see what I've got for a crew figure as well!

Hey Pete awesome update fella seems like a awesome build so far nice and quick too one small thing i would like to point out where you have added surfacer it needs a bit of sanding as it might show when you lay the paint down you probably know about this and will be doing it just i forgot to do it on 1 model and regretted it please dont take this as a bad critisism your doing a awesome job buddy

Tracks are now done, only four hours yesterday and they are done, just love fruil tracks. I find them far easeir to build than plastic tracks. So the build is now complete so it's off for a wash before primer.

Hey Pete,

Superb! Alan (my model group head honcho/leader) is currently building 3 Trumpeter kits - 2 WWII Red Army kits (KV-1 & SU-122 iirc) and the visholovets tractor with towed 155mm arty piece). I know the tractor name is spelt totally wrong btw!

He's a superb modeller, apart from several guys on here he's one of my mentors and heroes and when I saw these Trumpy kits I was seriously IMPRESSED by the quality - I have never built Trumpy and wasn't expecting much as they are cheaper kits but they looked great!

This build of your's looks great - anything with a 38(t) chassis kicks butt mainly because it has nice large roadwheels that are a joy to weather and there aren't many of them and all those rivets weather up perfectly!

I've got Tamiya's Marder III (the early one) in the stash. I've built it before about three years ago but want to go to town on this one now I have some skills!
