Sorry Andi for late coming, I've seen already a lot of commentaries and you move very well! I also like how the Black primer of MiG Jimenez looks, I was curious about it, I'll keep this in my mind when I'll gonna by a new black primer. I know there are many styles, I'm also starting from dark to light, so a black primer has its importance. I'm sorry that I can't help with airbrush 'cause I'm not using it. I know it's difficult to find a good working combination, maybe others colleagues, more experienced, will help you. About the feathers, it's important what you want to choose. Here (http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/winged-hussar-rzeczpospolita.62477/#post-637858) you have another result, but maybe it's important to forget about (to not be influenced). However, I don't like the feathers. Maybe something like this will be usefull: photography.nationalgeographic.com/photography/photo-of-the-day/eagles-poland/www.discoverwildlife.com/gallery/white-tailed-eagle-photo-gallery-marcin-nawrockiBest regards, Nicolae

WOW! Nicolae you sure know a lot about Polish Winged Hussar! Am damn glad you are around to help us out... I have learned a great deal while I am doing this bust. The pictures of the white tailed eagle was very helpful as I wondered where did the feathers come from. How can it be all white with black ends?!?! Thank you! Karma +1 for you! LOL
Yeah on move while I still got the mojo! LOL
I think you will like the MIG AMMO black primer... it sprayed just great and it delivered great result! I prefer black primer for all figures if possible since it make things easier for me to paint on the uniforms.

Dicky- I thought you are always drunk? Nobody deals with the white stuff more than you do! LOL Mr T- Hussy? Maybe I should call him Mr. Hussy! I think it would be appropriate to call him Mr. Hus-ski? My grandma was 100% polish... her maiden name was Cielieski. God bless her! I think your eyes are OK... its just part of aging we face daily. LOL #44- No kidding you turned a year older today!

So we're talkin' about gettin' budgies drunk as it makes their feathers fall out....as a modeling technique? I must've drunk more than I thought! Mh, I just though about hygienical things. But if you can mix them some JB or harder stuff in their water to see them falling of their cage and talking nonsense... why not?! It even works with parrots: www.youtube.com/watch?v=afJ1uFpl1pc

LOL! Thanks buddy. In earlier picture I used off white paint mixed with very little light grey as base coat on the feathers so that way I can use white for highlighting.
Appreciate you stopping by!

LOL! Thanks my friends Bruce and Gary! It was fun painting the feathers. Cutting, trimming and sanding was the hardest part... Got home an hour ago from work... probably too tired to do more work. Wait and see...

Pretty nice feather and metal work you've got going there Andy. I would never call someone that well armed and armored a drama queen...especially not with that expression on his face!

LOL! Some drama queens can be very dangerous... I know few people personally. Despite how tired I was I managed to find some energy hidden in my arse to paint the bust last night. Wings are done except for pending dark washes... Bust is next... shirt painted dark red Man it will be fun painting the big cat next... NOT!

Just make sure you dont use pure black for the beasts dots and spots. That was what I was told when I did the rear part of my GW War Griffon (his arse seems to be a kind of Jaguar or something). Use eg Nato Black instead for the first step, and highlight the inner areas with black, mixed with some base color (orange, brown or whatever you may use). Thats the theoretical stuff - didnt make it like that. But Im sure youll do it better.

Hey Lucas! I agree... I rarely use solid black or white for anything except for highlighting. I usually use 'Panzer Black' from LifeColor as they looks softer than solid black. For the cat, I will cover up most of the bust again and use my airbrush to spray paint as it will look softer and better that way.
Appreciate you sharing your tip... thanks!

Jeez, where did the week go?!?! Finally worked on the bust couple of nights ago. Focused on the big cat using just the airbrush... The color looks pretty strong right now but I am not too concerned as they will be toned down after oil washes treatment. Thanks for looking... off to Florida for a week visiting my parents for my boys spring break. Can't wait to get out of this crazy weather as my basement was partially flooded this morning. No model kits were harmed!!! LOL
