Eduard Fw 190 A-7 & Eduard Fw 190 D-9 Diorama

Painted all the little nick nacks for the A-7 and D-9 last night. I also finished decals on the D-9 and put clear gloss varnish over the decals on the A-7. 

Next up will be painting the gun bays and wheel well on the A-7.

I'll say it again, they catch alot of flak but these Eduard A kits just look so dang GOOD all opened up and this is a true testament to that fact. You're knocking this one out of the park Keith.

A-7 is just about done. Oil wash went on yesterday. Matte varnish tonight. Tomorrow I’ll do pigment powders to weather and a bit of chipping with metallic paint

D-9 got its oil wash tonight. Tomorrow it will get matte varnish. Landing gear is more or less done for both, just not attached. 

Hoping to have both planes complete by Friday. 

There will be a slight delay in the diorama as I am committed to a quick time frame on another build which will be in a competition.

First time seeing the cockpit in the A-7 in quite awhile. Will be glad to open up the D-9 tomorrow night.

Both have received their props and a matte clear coat (minus the shiny bits). All decals are done including the landing gear. Both canopies are dry fit on atm as there are some pieces to place within. I still need to attach engine panel wires and latches which shouldn’t take more than a couple minutes.






Hoping to have both into weathering Friday night (oil & dry pigments) with a completion of both that same night. I have majority of my diorama additions built, but not painted. I will begin posting images of those as they become complete. The diorama base itself will be relatively fast.

   Both of these look like true labors of love alright Keith. That A-7 all opened up looks SUPERB!!! Man you're making me want to bust out with one of my old Eduard A-8's. 


I found that lamp that you're using (the neatfi one) on ebay and Amazon already. Haven't pulled the trigger just yet but will be once I've got the necessary funds put away.

I had always planned for the A-7 to be heavily weathered. Which I’ve never done before.

Looks great! I always weather the Luftwaffe birds I build quite heavily as they all had a fairly tough life in theater.
