Awesome work so far Paul. You've really captured the movement with the repositioning of the legs/head and neck. This is gonna be killer. Love it!

Hi all cheers Multicam and Dave Just a few pics of progress so far. Ive pinned the right leg and attached it to a temporary base and i think the position and pose is just right, all of the gaps have been filled so its just a case of waiting for the milliput to dry then lots of shaping to do. I have also been thinking on the best plan for both figures I.E. sculpt both horses and riders and then paint the lot, or finish this one and paint it and then on with the other one ?? all for now Paul

Hi Paul,
I'm late to the party. Nice start on the horse, you really make it look easy converting those things.
I found the history lesson very interesting. I'm like you, I always have to dig deeper into a subject I find fascinating.

After a lot of filing and sanding the horse is more or less smooth, so ive started on the caparison, ive done the two front skirts and made 2 parts for the neck closure adding some creases where the straps and buckles will be, when these have gone off they will be sanded to blend into the rest of the horse Two back halves of the skirt next and then the saddle Paul

Ludicrously awesome, as usual:) How do you get the miliput so thin and keep it so clean? I just add a bit of flour to the milliput and then roll it out like pastry, cut it to size and then where i want it to fit on the figure you just wet the milliput so it sticks and it also means that it can be removed when its hard for smoothing and painting............as Alexander would say "simples" Paul

Hi all Cheers guys very much appreciated, Steve its 1/16 scale about the only size my eyes will work in now........unless its 1/1 Okay started on the rear half of the caparison and fitted the rear half of the saddle, the front part of the saddle ill make when i get this bit to fit properly. also made the Crinet, these were armour plates fitted to protect the back of the horses neck Also made this from milliput .................okay i found this little fellow outside the front gate this morning looking for food so hes had 3 tins of cat food and a packet of dried meal worms and a couple of gallons of milk, hopefully he will reach a pound and a half soon and then ill put him back in the woods Paul
